Happy Feet Animal Physiotherapy

Happy Feet Animal Physiotherapy Happy Feet Animal Physiotherapy is here to give our valued animals (both dogs and horses) rehabilitation after injury

Animal physiotherapy is a practice used to rehabilitate your animal after an injury or to help with a chronic condition. It uses a combination of massage, stretching, electrotherapies and rehabilitative exercise to maintain or regain the optimal functioning of your animal’s musculoskeletal system. After an injury your animal can be in significant pain and distress, it is the primary aim of our therapy to make your animal comfortable and to enhance their healing response after injury. It is vital to retain a healthy range of motion and to prevent any major changes after injury to allow a quick return to full function. The maintenance of your animals continued quality of life is of our highest priority. Each case is different, based on the nature of the specific injury. Your animal’s health and welfare is in expert hands. Using my extensive knowledge of equine and canine anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, disease & injury pathology I am able to create a clear picture of the problem and provide a treatment plan and ongoing support to my clients during the healing and recovery process. Working alongside other professionals in the industry including veterinary surgeons, trainers, hydro-therapists, farriers and saddlers we aim to give your animal the highest quality care. Treatments may target:
• Soft tissue (tendon, ligament and muscle) injuries
• Fractures
• Arthritis
• Joint problems (such as hip and elbow dysplasia, joint dislocations)
• Recovery from surgical procedures
• Neurological injuries and problems
• Pain management
• Performance development for athletes
• Maintenance

Always fascinates me how much of an effect you can have on an animals body without even touching them 💖💖💖

Poor girls so sensitive she finds even having my hands on her to much after her spinal injury earlier this year. So we do much of the session with my hands completely off her.

She's still aware of the areas which I want her to 'think' about. Yet it makes it a bit easier for her. To process it at a level she's comfortable with 😌

She's a great visual example of the physical releases we getting through the fascial tissue. While we help it to release built up tension around her previous injury site 🤯

If you’ve done fitness training with your dog, then you probably know that doing the exercises slowly and with great control is super important in order for the exercises to give you the benefits you’re hoping for. Fast paced exercises generally stay in the dog sports classes while fitness train...

Brilliant advice 👏👏👏

😊

As our beloved pooches get older, it’s important to remember that just because they are getting on in years, doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be regularly exercised.

You know what they say, strong body, strong mind.

One tip you can use for exercising older dogs is to remember to go at your dog’s pace, slow and gentle exercise will still benefit your older dog physically as well as mentally without the risk of over-exertion.
