The journey to the city was unlike anything Glory had ever imagined. They reached the city by dusk. The bustling streets, filled with flashing lights and towering buildings, made Glory feel small. Harrison led her through narrow alleyways and quiet streets until they arrived at a modest home, not a mansion like she had imagined. The place looked humble—small, yet well-kept, with a neat garden in the front. It was a far cry from the grand palaces the city’s rich folk lived in.
"This is where you’ll stay," Harrison said, his voice soft but steady.
Glory nodded, unsure of what to say. She had hoped for something more—something that could give her a sense of security—but deep down, she knew she had no choice.
As they entered the house, Harrison went to a small table and began to unpack a few things. But Glory’s mind was racing, trying to make sense of everything.
