Sannies Soldiers

Sannies Soldiers Sannie is a mighty warrior in need of her army of soldiers to give her fighting chance against the battle against infections.

This little girl is diagnosed at PID with Selective IgA Deficiency. This means, she has little to no immune system.

The pure joy of unboxing Sans Soldiers!😁

We have waited long enough. She is on her fourth set of antibiotics in less than 2months 😒

This kid is so excited to have her dose... Not an emotion we have dealt with when it comes to her infusions... But we will take it πŸ˜…

First we write a test tomorrow, and then we infuse πŸ’ƒ

EDIT: TONIGHT WE INFUSE πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈThis soldier can't wait another night...

Hopefully this, plus the meds will hold us from going back to Dr Friday to have other meds added on, as she just is not shaking whatever she has πŸ˜‘

We had a lovely meeting with Prof Esser today. She is just the best with the biggest heart. ❀️

We going to continue the course of action with the Beriglobin for the next few months. Run her blood work and see if her levels have dropped again.

Her chronic fatigue is a part of her life now, and we just manage it as we go. If she is tired, let her rest. However all her sport really helps and Prof was supper impressed with her for that.

We starting to come to acceptance that she will live with Primary Immunodeficiency and Selective Antibody Deficiency. As much as we wish it would just be gone now, it is a part of our warrior and what makes her so amazing and so strong.

She beat Covid, she can beat anything! ⭐

Onwards and upwards from here as we continue to press on with medical aid to cover the exorbitant costs of the treatments. We have started the renewal process for her Beriglobin (Plasma Infusions) with medical aid. So far we have a few hurdles to cross, but hoping for full financial coverage.

Much love to all her family, friends, support and followers ❀️

I apologise for this post but apparently the law states I must post it.
Hope you all stay ❀

We wanted to reach out again and thank everyone who helped us get Sannie onto the path of home infusions.πŸ€—β€οΈ We realised the value in having her plasma at home in recent weeks, having to use a pead to manually pump her meds in his rooms. Not comfortable at all, although our new pead is absolutely wonderful ⭐

Our warriors first home infusion in Mosselbay has become a family affair. Unfortunately the wrong syringes were sent, resulting in them not fitting into the pump. So we all take turns to manually push the plasma through for San.

Not to worry, as most part of tomorrow will be spent sourcing the right syringes to make this a smooth and comfy process for our fighter. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…

Recently we visited Prof Esser again and she was so happy with Sannies progress. Her levels are looking good. Whilst COVID is around, we have decided to not test the waters and see if she can maintain without her plasma, just yet. For now, we soldier up once a week, work on cleaning up the diet and adding in the vitamins and minerals through good healthy eating and loads of extra sleep as she often battles with exhaustion.

But we are convinced the fresh sea air and gorgeous sun out here on the garden route will make the world of difference!! β˜€οΈπŸŒ…

PS: more than year of no hospital visits!! Clearly Beriglobin as a frontline is just what she needs πŸ‘

We have been so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from everyone who has continued to make donations during this time – thank you South Africa!

We are calling on all plasma and platelet donors to donate regularly. Find a plasma and platelet donor centre closest to you. https://bit.ly/2VEnq2c

We are open on weekends too.
