Shaping the Future of Healthcare: Dr Tshegofatso Moeletsi Speaks on HR Innovation
We're proud to share that our own Dr Tshegofatso Moeletsi recently participated in a panel discussion hosted by Regenesys Education on the critical topic: HR for Innovation in Health Workforce Transformation in the Age of Biotech and Telehealth.
Dr Moeletsi highlighted the urgent need for flexibility and agility in modern healthcare organisations. As biotechnology and telehealth continue to reshape the health sector, HR practices must evolve to match the changing needs of both the business and the workforce.
She spoke about creating a more personalised employee value proposition that appeals to different generations and skill sets - especially as competition for specialised talent intensifies. Organisations must clearly communicate career paths and opportunities to attract and retain skilled professionals.
Three key theories guide this approach: 1️⃣ Social exchange theory – viewing organisations as supportive spaces that promote motivation, engagement, and innovation 2️⃣ Human capital development – investing in education, health, and growth to enhance productivity 3️⃣ Enabling resources – creating systems that connect social and human capital effectively.
Dr Moeletsi emphasised the importance of using data to design HR strategies that are dynamic and responsive rather than static. Collaboration across departments is vital, ensuring that HR, management, and other teams co-create solutions that meet both business and employee needs.
She also addressed the role of emerging technologies and AI, encouraging organisations to build confidence within HR teams to support employees through change. Rather than fearing automation, she advocated for empowering staff through training and reskilling to prepare for future roles.
Her closing message was powerful: sustainability and compassion must sit at the centre of workforce transformation. Whilst technology will continue to advance, it is people who deliver care and save lives. To ensure continuity and longevity, organisations must prioritise human well-being and create environments that support and sustain those who care for others.
Thank you, Dr Moeletsi, for representing Lancet Laboratories with insight, passion, and vision.
