Othobothini Community Health Centre successfully hosted its Annual Open Day on 25 March 2026, which proved to be a resounding success. The event aimed to raise awareness among the community and surrounding catchment areas about the comprehensive services offered by the facility. The day was filled with joy as community leaders and departmental stakeholders, including the Department of Social Development, Thuthuzela Care Centre, Community Liaison, SORD, SAPS, Life Line, and Msiyane High School, gathered to promote inter-sectoral collaboration in service delivery.

Special appreciation is extended to all internal departments for their financial support and physical presence, which significantly contributed to the event's success. Various sections provided informative presentations on topics related to women and child services, chronic services, pharmacy services, and human resource development.

The Chief Executive Manager, Mrs D.S Mkhwanazi, highlighted the facility's exceptional performance across various indicators and achievements, as well as positive feedback received on complaint management. The facility received numerous compliments on patient care in 2025/26, and the Work and Play Wellness team was awarded for their outstanding participation.

The Health Promotion Planning Committee is proud of the support received from the facility, ensuring that health services reach the community. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the facility's health promotion activities.

The 21st of January 2026 marked a significant day for Nondabuya Clinic as they hosted a Prayer Day, a first-of-its-kind event. The purpose was to express gratitude to God for the outstanding work done and to welcome the new Operational Manager, Mr. Sikhosana, who commenced his duties on the 1st of January 2026.

As a former Operational Manager for Outreach programmes under the Senior Management of Othobothini CHC, he is familiar with the Department. The event was attended by community leaders, stakeholders, including neighbouring schools, partners/supporters, local businesses, and the community at large.

Rev. Mthembu shared the word of God from Exodus 13:14, 2 Chronicles 7:14, emphasizing the importance of humility and seeking the Lord. A prayer of declaration of peace and excellence was said over the team and the community. Community leaders appreciated the good relationship they have with the Department of Health through the CHC and its clinics.

Indeed, it was a tremendous day.
