We love seeing the progress our little movers make at Neurogenesis!

Mikayla had such a great week of ABM NeuroMovement® sessions — exploring more variation in her movements and working on getting into weight-bearing positions.

Since Mikayla loves being upright, we focused on movements that give her brain the information it needs for better balance and confidence. Every small step in awareness opens the door to bigger possibilities.

ABM uses gentle, playful movements to help the brain form new connections. This gives children more options in how they move, improving function, comfort, and ease in daily life.

More Than Learning to See – It’s About Seeing to Learn

At Neurogenesis, we know that Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is not a problem with the eyes, but with how the brain makes sense of what the eyes see. That’s why our CVI Intensives are uniquely designed to support your child’s brain-based visual development — not just to help them learn to see, but to help them see in order to learn.

We meet each child exactly where they are — whether they are drawn only to light, unable to respond visually to faces or pictures, or beginning to explore books, shapes, and symbols. Our interventions are tailored to support their individual skill level and guide them toward the next step in building functional vision.

Our intensives also:
- Empower parents, caregivers, and teachers with tools and strategies that carry over into everyday life — at home, during therapy, and in school
- Provide a clear understanding of how your child sees, and how to reduce visual barriers in their world
- Foster developmental skills through meaningful visual engagement

📸 The photos in this post give you a small glimpse into what a CVI Intensive can look like. The child featured here was diagnosed as "brain-blind" at just 3 months old. At the time, she responded only to lighted objects. But with the right support and interventions over the years, she is now working on numeracy, literacy, and other age-appropriate visual skills.

Her journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we support vision through the brain, not just the eyes.
