Occupational therapists play a crucial role in driving rehabilitation due to their expertise in assessing individuals' functional abilities and facilitating independence in daily activities. When it comes to driving after a head injury or other conditions affecting cognition, perception, or physical function, occupational therapists are uniquely positioned to evaluate the complex interaction between these factors and driving performance.

Through comprehensive assessments, customized training programs, and the provision of adaptive equipment, occupational therapists empower individuals to regain or maintain their ability to drive safely and confidently. Their holistic approach addresses not only the physical skills required for driving but also cognitive, perceptual, and emotional factors that can impact driving ability.

By collaborating with individuals, their families, and other healthcare professionals, occupational therapists ensure that driving rehabilitation programs are tailored to meet each person's specific needs and goals, ultimately promoting independence and community participation.
