Meet the team | Agile Ultrasound

Agile is a private Sonography practice offering Diagnostic Medical and Pregnancy ultrasound scans- these include:

Musculoskeletal (Shoulder,Ankles,Wrists,etc)
Vascular (DVT, venous insufficiency,Carotid Doppler,etc)
and soft tissue studies
(Breast, Sc***um, Thyroid,etc).

We work together with a team of Specialist Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologists,who are able to assist with ultrasound guided procedures such as biopsies, etc.

Agile Ultrasound is owned by Pernelene Pillay who returned to South Africa after working in the United Kingdom. She has in excess of 10 years of experience.

Breast Ultrasound

A Breast Ultrasound is an imaging modality commonly used to screen or evaluate tumours in the breast.

Ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the inside of the breast. Because ultrasound does not use radiation, it is considered safe for pregnant or breastfeeding patients.

Mammography, using a low dose X-Ray, is the most effective tool for the earliest detection of breast cancer as it can reveal masses in the breast up to two years before a patient or physician can feel them.

Femina Health Radiology, in conjunction with Agile Ultrasound and Dr NBA Madlala offers Breast Mammography, various Ultrasound as well as Bone Densitometry testing as part of our multidisciplinary team.

Dear Colleagues and Patients

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank you for your support over the last four years, and for trusting me with your health!

Agile Ultrasound was a dream and goal of mine- a place where patients are treated with care, respect and dignity, and Doctors can trust for quality and high standards of care.
It has taken years of effort to build professional relationships, and I am proud to see how far we have come over the last four years.

I am forever grateful to my husband, (business partner and biggest supporter), for helping me build Agile Ultrasound , from scratch! As well as our Family who have been a pillar of support and strength.

Our little family now looks forward to our next adventure- navigating life abroad, as we take on a new exciting opportunity in New Zealand.

Agile Ultrasound will continue to practice under the ownership of Pernelene Pillay.
Pernelene is an esteemed colleague, who has returned to South Africa, after working in the United Kingdom. She has 8 years of experience, as well as a strong value system, which is in keeping with Agile Ultrasound ethos.

I have complete faith in Pernelene as she takes over the reins, and I look forward to watching Agile Ultrasound grow in the future!
