Helen and myself are both nature-lovers who intentionally spend a lot of our downtime in the great outdoors!
Because we believe so passionately in the research-backed benefits of nature exposure for stress and pain, we base our pain self-management groups on her popular book "Your Pain Playbook", with its nature-inspired stories and metaphors for pain management, and host our groups in beautiful natural environments.
When you participate in one of our 6-week group programmes, you are not just learning to manage pain, you are enhancing your life and well-being through compassionate support and reconnection with nature.
Get in touch about our upcoming events:
- 4-hour interactive pain care seminar - 9am Sat 4th Oct
- 6-week pain group programme - starts mid Oct

Physiotherapy is one of the most effective treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction. A specially trained physiotherapist can assess how your pelvic floor muscles are working - whether they are too weak, too tight, or not co-ordinating properly. Treatment may include exercises to strengthen weak muscles, techniques to relax tight or overactive muscles, co-ordination exercises and guidance on how to use the muscles correctly during daily activities like lifting, coughing and going to the toilet. Physiotherapy may also involve hands-on treatment, breathing techniques, postural advice, lifestyle advice and education to help you better understand and manage your symptoms. Women do not need to suffer quietly. With the right support, you can experience significant relief and improvement in your quality of life.

PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION (PFD) happens when the muscles and supportive tissues of the pelvic floor are not working properly. This can affect the bladder (front), uterus and va**na (middle), re**um (back). Common problems include urine leaks, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, pain and difficulty emptying the bowel and bladder.
PDF can be caused by weak or injured muscles, stretched or loose ligaments or poor muscle co-ordination. Sometimes, the muscles become too tight and don't relax properly. Tension, injuries or long-standing pain in the area can worsen these issues.
A women's health physio can help.

August is Women's Month and we would like to talk about an intimate part of a woman's body - the pelvic floor.
The pelvic floor is made up of a group of muscles and supportive tissues that form a hammock at the bottom of the pelvis. These muscles surround the openings of the bladder (urethra), va**na and re**um (back passage). The pelvic floor plays an important role in many body functions, such as holding up the internal organs, helping us control when (and when not) we go to the toilet, supporting sexual function and assisting during childbirth.
These muscles can tighten when we want them to (like when we prevent an urge to urinate until we get to a toilet) and also tighten automatically when we cough, sneeze or do exercise. They also need to relax afterwards. When the pelvic floor muscles aren't working properly, it can lead to problems with these functions.
A Woman's Health Physio can assist.

This Breastfeeding Awareness week, let's talk about the benefits of breastfeeding. It provides vital health benefits for mother and baby - it strengthens the baby's immune system, supports healthy development and fosters emotional bonding. For mothers, it can aid in postnatal recovery, support emotional wellbeing and reduce the risk of certain cancers. However, challenges like cracked ni***es, mastitis and postural pain can make breastfeeding difficult. Physiotherapists can assist by treating pain, advising comfortable feeding positions and using therapeutic techniques like ultrasound and laser. Let us support you in your breastfeeding journey.

Is your business struggling with low productivity due to employee pain and absenteeism?
For too long, workplace pain has been treated with traditional quick fixes and expensive interventions.
It's time to shift to a smarter, sustainable alternative.
As an interdisciplinary partnership of experts in the pain care field, we deliver online and in-person programmes, events and resources to suit individual and corporate needs.
We offer: #
* A pain rehabilitation programme focused on self-management for anyone with persistent pain.
* A resilience-building programme specifically aimed at preventing the development of persistent pain amongst employees.
Both programmes can be delivered online or in person.
