Aaaah this Coco Culture is such a Feast of Eden 🤍✨

I was not prepared for the burst of flavour and tanginess, when I tried this incredible new product of .of.eden.fermentary yesterday.

Its thickness, creaminess and tanginess are reminiscent of full cream Greek Yoghurt (way back in the day when I still consumed dairy products that was the only yoghurt I would touch), but by having coconut cream and milk as a base instead (of dairy), you're also treated to that typically nutty and tropical aroma.

Currently only available at the Fermentary at the Sedgefield mosaic market, I can highly encourage you to visit when you go to the market and try its goodness.

For a while now I've only been buying pre-loved clothing, and today I found this little gem. It had "me" written all over, and it only cost me R50.

"Fast fashion, defined by rapid production of inexpensive clothing, is inherently unsustainable, contributing to roughly 10%of global carbon emissions, 20% of wastewater, and massive landfill waste", Plastic Collective notes. "It heavily relies on fossil fuel-based synthetic materials and exploits resources, with 30% of produced clothing ending up in landfills. Shifting toward sustainable practices is critical for environmental preservation."

Thrifting is great for the environment, heaps of fun, and sooooo much better for your wallet!

Thank you (in Knysna) for offering FREE plant milks and doing what's right for the planet and the animals 🙏🏼💚🌍🐄

🌱 Plant-based milks have a significantly lower environmental impact than cow's milk, producing over 60% fewer greenhouse gases, using 10x less land, and requiring far less water. While dairy production is consistently highest in emissions and water use, note that almond milk is water-intensive, and rice milk can have high emissions as well.

🌱 While no plant-milks provide any essential nutrients (and neither does cow's milk), from a nutritional perspective you get the most bang for your buck with soy milk.

2025 Was a great and busy year, in which I did my best to look after my nutrition, but since I really love food, and a drink 🥃 as well, my portion have been really off.

So I've revisited a programme I did in 2016 to shed a few kgs after I stopped smoking 🚬 in 2015 (yes, I smoked for 27 years) and tweaked it into a vegan programme. I'm my own guinea pig, and in another 41 days I will let you know how it went.

Just a few simple rules:
🥃 No booze, no simple sugars
😋 Simple, portioned meals, all whole foods, mostly raw, including all macros
💪🏼 A simple daily exercise regime that works up a sweat and strengthens the muscles
💧 2,5 liters of water a day

I took it real easy these last two weeks. It's been a busy year. But after a few short road trips, lots of eating and drinking and reading books and doing puzzles, and mostly staying put at the Shire, it's time to get the show on the road again.
