MEET BRIAN SEGAL
We asked Brian a few deeper questions to get to know him on a personal level.
Q: Has there been a retreat or workshop which changed your outlook on life?
A: Yes, I was in Sweden and for most of my life played being this good boy, trying to please everyone else. In this workshop the facilitator enabled me to just be me, and to drop the need to please everyone else, and so in this, my whole world changed.
Q: Whose your biggest role model & why?
A: My childhood was emotionally very scary and rocky, I had a brother that bullied me terribly, and so in any external attachment I was teased. This resulted in me not being able to have any real role model as who ever it was would be attacked. The role models I have today would be people who have overcome their own personal circumstances and the broader collective such as the Dali Lama, Nelson Mandela.
Q: What would you tell your 7 year old self?
A: Be kind, be gentle, be allowing, for we all have chosen our own paths to walk on.
Q: How do you centre yourself?
A: By grounding myself, like walking in nature, breathing deeply, hugging or squeezing my body.
