I really enjoyed researching for this topic and it seems like there is still so much to unpack when it comes to Nutrition In Menopause and how much certain nutrients like protein, vitamins and supplements can play a role at combating the symptoms and long term effects!

The main takeaways that I learnt were:

🏋 Higher protein is essential to combat muscle and bone breakdown due to changes in hormones
🏋 Quality and Type of Protein is important (include 50% of your protein source from vegetarian sources)
🏋 Ideally spread your protein throughout the day.
🏋 Avoid too high of a protein intake
🏋 Always drink plenty of water to flush the kidneys
🏋 Whey and Creatine can play a role for supplementing in women

Remember its never to late to start improving your health - even in your 60s you can still build muscle with strength training and upping your protein intake. (Strength training can be in the form of resistance exercises like pilates, dumbbell exercises, using resistance bands etc)
