Representing MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, Ms Thembokuhle Ntuli-Karigani, Chief Director of West Rand District Health Services visited Simunye Hall to assess health and wellness services offered under the Substance Abuse initiative. During the visit, she interacted with officials and community members at various service stalls. The engagement concluded with a collaborative discussion between Ms Ntuli-Karigani and representatives from the Departments of Social Development, Community Safety, Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, SAPS, and NGOs.

Yesterday, our Health Promotion team, Mr Mose, Ms Maphathiyane and Mr Moela, joined Rainbow Fm 90.7 to raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and how to prevent them. Listeners were reminded of the importance of continuous and consistent condom use for safer sexual health.

In preparation for Monday’s province-wide campaign, the West Rand District Health Services joined the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) activation at Kagiso Mall to bring essential health services closer to the community.

Community members received HIV and TB testing, blood pressure and diabetes screening, and access to a mobile clinic offering comprehensive healthcare services.
