MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko, is attending the Collaborative Integration and Data Management Workshop at Boksburg Correctional Services in Ekurhuleni. The workshop forms part of the Gauteng Department of Health’s ongoing efforts to strengthen coordinated, people centred service delivery across the health sector.

The workshop brings together internal and external stakeholders including the National Department of Health and World Health Organisation to gather insights that will help strengthen and finalise the Integration Framework, ensuring it is practical, evidence based and aligned with provincial workflows and priorities.

As the department works to operationalise integrated service delivery within primary health care, particularly for priority programmes such as HIV, TB, non communicable diseases including mental health, and maternal, newborn and child health, a unified Integration Framework is essential to improve planning, service delivery and health outcomes.

The engagement also aims to build a shared understanding of health system integration, identify challenges and opportunities, and document recommendations to inform the finalisation and provincial rollout of the framework.
