West Rand District Health Services, through Clinical Forensic Medical Services (CFMS) – Forensic Pathology Services Gauteng, participated in a Career Exhibition Day held at Kgothalang Secondary School in Bekkersdal.

The initiative focused on exposing Grade 8 and Grade 12 learners to various career opportunities within the healthcare sector and other fields. It also aimed to educate learners on the systems in place to address gender-based violence and child abuse.

The event was supported by key stakeholders including the South African Police Service (SAPS), Department of Correctional Services, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), and Lebone College of Emergency Care.

This forms part of an ongoing annual programme to empower and guide learners, with this being the second session for 2026.

[In pictures] Clinical Forensic Medical Services Forensic pathology services gauteng is currently hosting a career exhibition day for Grade 8 & 12 learners at TM Letlhake Secondary School in Simunye Ex 5.

The aim of the career expo is to expose learners to different careers in the healthcare system and other fields, expose learners to systems that help fight gender- based violence and child - molestation.

CFMS has collaborated other departments, including the South African Police Service, Department of Correctional Services, National Prosecuting Authority, Lebone College of Emergency Care & Forensic Pathology Services.

This is an annual event, and this is the first session of 2026, with two more schools to be visited in.
