The pandemic may be over, but for millions, the suffering isn’t. Long COVID remains underdiagnosed and rarely treated. Post-Acute COVID-19 Vaccination Syndrome (PACVS) doesn’t even have an official diagnostic code, meaning the healthcare system has no way of accounting for it. Patients are left searching for answers, often unable to find doctors willing to treat them.

One reason: the symptoms don’t show up on standard tests. Persistent fatigue, cognitive impairment, and dysautonomia are described by patients, but their labs often come back “normal.”

Post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (long COVID) present with persistent fatigue, cognitive impairment, and autonomic and multisystem dysfunctions that often go unnoticed by standard diagnostic tests. Increasing evidence suggests that mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress are centra...

The researchers measured common carotid intima-media thickness—IMT, the standard ultrasound metric for arterial wall thickening and early atherosclerosis—at baseline and then at three, six, nine, and twelve months. In the pomegranate group, mean IMT at baseline was 1.5 mm. What they observed over the following year was a progressive, stepwise regression:

At three months: 13% reduction in IMT.

At six months: 22% reduction.

At nine months: 26% reduction.

At twelve months: up to 35% reduction—with mean IMT dropping from 1.5 mm to 1.1 mm.

The control group, receiving identical standard cardiac care without pomegranate juice? Their mean IMT increased by 9% over the same twelve-month period—from 1.45 mm to 1.58 mm.

"When lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) were introduced as a carrier system to deliver the modRNA through the bloodstream, we were told they were inert packages, like little soap or fat bubbles that dissolve after delivery. P**f! Gone! This new paper by Shaun Grumelot et al. (bioRxiv, December 2025) obliterates that myth and supports much of the research and hypotheses I have been examining. Using cryo‑electron microscopy and proteomics, the authors show that LNPs don’t form a “protein corona” like hard nanoparticles do. They fuse with the body’s own lipoproteins. OK, the implications are huge imho."- Maria Gutchi

Upon exposure to biological fluids, nanoparticles rapidly acquire a layer of adsorbed biomolecules, predominantly proteins, known as the protein corona. This corona significantly influences nanoparticle pharmacokinetics and biodistribution in vivo , making detailed characterization essential for the...

Aluminum is the environmental toxin causing the most human harm—an international health emergency no one speaks about. Although mercury and other heavy metals are more toxic, aluminum is far more common. It is in the air and on every surface, a worldwide contaminant that is just about everywhere. Avoiding it is impossible. Aluminum’s foul properties are ruthlessly concealed by an industry that is knowingly murdering us for profit. Because of them, cleaning up our air and other aluminum sources will not happen any time soon.

Aluminum is one of the most important factors causing neuro-inflammation.

Introduction: In the scenario of metal toxicity, aluminum (Al) stands out as a ubiquitous type of metal that can be combined with other elements and form different compounds. Al is widely used daily as an adjuvant in vaccines, antacids, food ...

Decades of evidence reveal that vitamin C attacks cancer through four powerful mechanisms: pro-oxidative cytotoxicity, epigenetic reprogramming, signaling-pathway suppression, and immune activation.

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has sparked controversy since it first emerged as a potential anti-cancer agent. However, an increasing number…

Creatine helps replenish brain energy during high cognitive demand.
It supports mitochondria, key to healthy aging and brain power.
New research links creatine to reduced brain inflammation.
It may enhance neuroplasticity and mental clarity via immune effects.

Creatine is breaking out of the gym. Learn how this power molecule fuels your brain, boosts energy, and cools inflammation.

The authors report that tanning bed users were more likely to develop melanoma on low cumulative sun damage sites and to develop multiple melanomas, and they show that melanocytes from tanning bed exposed skin had higher mutation burdens and higher proportions of pathogenic mutations, especially in areas that usually receive less natural sunlight.
Please see discussion in comments

The skin cells of tanning bed users have distinct mutational features as compared to people who only experience natural sunlight.

A systematic review of 69 studies identified safety signals for leukemia, lymphoma, breast and lung cancer. The paper identified mechanisms — including the spike protein and DNA contamination found in some COVID-19 vaccine types — that might be responsible for triggering cancer.

The oncogenic potential of SARS-CoV-2 has been hypothetically proposed, but real-world data on COVID-19 infection and vaccination are insufficient. Therefore, this large-scale population-based retrospective study in Seoul, South Korea, aimed to estimate the cumulative incidences and subsequent risks...

Our Story

We open our doors on the 15 of May 2006,and since then delivered quality care family medicine. We proud ourself as being homely with friendly reception and up to date knowledge about medicine! We walk the extra mile with and for our patients.

My colleague in the mornings is Dr Lize Schnabel, who studied with me(same time) at University of Stellenbosch. She also has 25 years experience in multiple different fields in medicine like geriatric psychiatry, gynaecology and many more. She and her husband also spend a few years in Canada and England, but came back home when they started there family. For the previous few year she worked as the family physician at Discovery. It is a honour to have her in our team.

Then there is my very polite and hands on practice manager ,Riaan Smit, who will always try to help you in any way he can. From the 1st of February 2017,we got a new member in our team,Sandra Cupido. I know Sandy for more than 2 decades, and we worked together for 10 years in a surgery in the Cape Flats. Come visit us,and experience holistic medicine and hospitality like in the old days of visiting your house doctor!
