ROASTED CABBAGE in your AIR-FRYER


At COOKING FROM THE HEART, we are all about tasty, easy recipes for the whole family. Cabbage is an affordable low-carb vegetable and can be cooked in a variety of ways. If you haven’t been a fan of cabbage before, we promise that this ROASTED version may just change your mind … It’s quick and so flavourful!

ROASTED CABBAGE
30 ml (2 tbsp) oil
15 ml (1 tbsp) mild or wholegrain mustard
splash of lemon juice and black pepper, to taste
2 baby cabbages, cut into wedges
1 small onion, cut into wedges
toasted sunflower or sesame seeds, or both and Italian parsley leaves for serving

1. MIX the oil, mustard, lemon juice and pepper together in a large bowl:
2. GENTLY TOSS the cabbage and onion through the marinade.
3. SPOON mixture onto an air-fryer paper liner and roast in the air-fryer at 180 °C for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and just cooked.
4. SPRINKLE cabbage with seeds and parsley. Serve warm with a meat of your choice.

TINS 101

Here are FIVE important tips when it comes to storing and using TINNED FOOD:
1. Always store tins in a COOL, DRY PLACE, away from heat or direct sunlight.
2. NEVER use a DENTED tin, as small openings in the metal can allow bacteria to contaminate the content. The same applies to rusted tins.
3. CHECK the BEST BEFORE DATE to ensure that the content of the tin is still good enough to eat.
4. If the LABEL happens to tear off, make sure that you label the tin clearly to know what’s inside.
5. NEVER leave any leftovers in the tin – rather spoon it into a suitable container and refrigerate, as the metal of the opened tin can affect the food and it may also start to spoil faster in the open tin.

A REFRESHING start!
Stay hydrated this summer with our THIRST-QUENCHING ICED TEA. Rooibos tea, fresh ginger, cinnamon and cloves are all known for their health properties. The combination of ingredients adds so much flavour that no sugar is needed. We do add a clear fruit juice to the Rooibos, so make sure to choose something that is pure, containing as little added sugar as possible.
