This morning I was out on the beach earlier than usual, so it meant my trusty dogs and I got a longer walk. The beach sand here is rough! I was in my flip flips as usual but they are not quite up to the job as obviously sand/bits of shell do give one an unintended foot scrub. So as I sit here with tingling feet I realise that my faith is like my flip flops, a little inadequate for the job at hand. However, it was beautiful out and so with a tingling feet and an exfoliated soul, I will enjoy the day..... 😉

Yesterday morning, I took my dogs to the beach for a walk. I didn't want to get out of bed. I had heard rain in the early hours of the morning,, so I could have pretended that it may be too wet, but I got up and went down. It was beautiful, my baby's were happy and I found some interesting things that had washed up. Have a look and share your story of what could have happened to wash these items up together.

Credit to my freind who took this photo in Norway. The image struck me. There is such purity and clarity to the view that a child has of the world. As adults that clarity evaporates and erodes or gets coloured. This word would be a better place if we looked at each other through the eyes of children.

I was sitting in my lounge one day last week and the play of light through the sliding doors was at just the right angle to create movement. My Daxie saw the movement and erupted! It was a creature? Bird? She dashed off onto the veranda, barking excitedly! Arrives at the scene.... Nothing! The funny part was, she sniffed around hopefully for quite some time looking for this animal. She knew she had seen it! How often do we know we know something, but then realise our interpretation was wrong? Do we then acknowledge our skewed interpretation? Are we even aware of it?

Recently I was chatting to a patient. I made a comment to her about how close her family is. She mentioned that her daughter's, their spouses, and all the grandkids, from age 2 to early 20's, get on a call with each other every day! How do YOU keep your family close?

This friendly little guy was gifted to me by a wonderful patient. It makes me smile every time I look at it, which is often, as it's on my desk. A smile helps on even the most difficult day. What do you keep close to keep you smiling?

In Dec 2021 after my Pug died, my Daxie was lonely. I didn’t necessarily want a second dog, so I took her to the park to socialize. She absolutely loved it! We went every day without fail. That is how I took my first step from totally sedentary to ….. truth be told……tennis addict! She used to live for her walks. I now live for tennis. She has a doggy sister for company and we walk most days, so she is happy and so am I. I took my first step for her, and found a win for myself. If not for yourself, who would you take a step for?

This morning a bird flew through open door into my office. I have mirrors on two of the walls. It flew into one of them and landed on the floor. Thankfully, not fast or hard. I was worried as my dogs were near and I obviously didn't want them to realise what had happened. I also knew that sudden movement would panic the little dude. So I slowly, calmly walked toward the back of it, but angled away from it, one step at a time, until it turned towards the open door once more. It saw it's escape route and flew out. When we respond gently and with purpose, how can we positively change an outcome?
