Good morning. To commemorate Child Protection Week, KLS Occupational Therapist and Associates seeks to raise awareness about the pros and cons of social media. Unsupervised social media use can expose children to bullying. Parents and caregivers, please ensure that you supervise your children's internet usage and social media interactions at all times.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological, mental health disorder in which individuals experience chronic issues with inattention, hyperactivity and/or impulsivity.1 Onset of ADHD starts in childhood, and typically persists throughout adulthood. Without treatment, adult ADHD symptoms can have severe consequences on social, academic, and/or occupational daily functioning.

Compliments of the new year everyone.

This year KLS Occupational Therapy Practice embarks on a journey to support the community and enrich the lives of the children in our communities where the inequalities persist.

Together with Ya Bana Villager for orphanage children and those who dearly need a home, we are raising funds for their medical interventions and sensory stimulation programs. We recall that KLS OT, SAISI, and Ya Bana Village erected the sensory playground in 2023 and now we need funds so that the occupational therapy programs can commence.

I am sharing a link from which you can contribute by fundraising and making donations for these children. The Spirit of UBUNTU is our MOJO in South Africa and we are a nation that understands WHAT A HELPING HAND means to those who need it. MAKING THE DIFFERENCE.
