This isnāt a big launch. Just a quiet invitation to something Iāve been working on since January but in truth, itās been in the making for the past 20 years.
I didnāt wake up one day and decide to start a cooking club. This has always been close to my heartāthe belief that cooking is more than a skill. Itās a way to nourish ourselves and the people we love.
If your child enjoys cookingāor youād like them to learnāIād love to welcome them into our little corner of the kitchen.
This is more than just a cooking class. Itās a place where tweens and teens grow in confidence, independence, and a genuine love for food.
We meet once a week on Zoom. I share everything you need: recipes, videos, and support to make it simple and stress-free at home.
Every recipe is chosen with careāseasonal, nourishing, and designed to teach real skills that last long after the meal is finished.
Health and nutrition matter deeply to me. But so does joy, creativity, and helping kids discover what theyāre capable of.
Term 3 started on 25 July, but if you missed the start? No problem-I'll send you a discount code so you only pay for the remaining classes.
Book via link in bio or

Thereās something so grounding about starting the day with a warm, nourishing breakfast ā especially one that fills your kitchen with the comforting smell of cinnamon and apples. These baked apple and cinnamon oats are everything I love in a breakfast: simple to make, subtly sweet, and something the whole family enjoys. Find the recipe here.
Cooking is more than just food ā itās confidence, calm, and connection.
When kids learn to cook, theyāre not just making dinner ā theyāre building life skills that stay with them forever.
In my latest blog post, I share:
Why cooking matters (especially for teens)
What makes online lessons so powerful

I am Ankie Niesing, founder of Wooden Spoon Kitchen, an online food blog for those who can, canāt and wonāt cook. Simple, wholefood made easy.
I am a trained Home Economics teacher with a creative approach to cooking and styling food. I have been teaching cooking skills for the past 17 years. Over the years I have also developed a keen interest in nutrition and how food can affect our health.
If you are overwhelmed and under-inspired in the kitchen, I know how you feel. Iāve been there. I have had times I dreaded the kitchen, the endless washing up, fussy children that donāt appreciate your efforts, grabbing ready meals because life is too rushed. Eating and cooking food that is not nourishing your body and soul.
Where before my main business before was teaching people to cook at my home studio, from now on I will be sharing online cooking resources, customise meal planning for families and create e-books for a larger community, but donāt worry I still want to do occasional workshops and would love to still connect with all of you in person.
I hope to inspire you along the way to live a more healthy and beautiful lifestyle. If you want to receive more information regarding my services please get in contact and sign-up for my monthly newsletter full of inspiring foodie news and recipes
I cannot wait to meet you and begin a beautiful cooking journey together because, in my kitchen, anyone can cook!
