Celebrating Heritage Day at Kiddies Day Care Centre 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦

Today our staff came together in their beautiful traditional attire, singing proudly in IsiXhosa, as we celebrate the richness of our heritage.

At Kiddies Day Care Centre, we celebrate culture every day, but tomorrow, on Heritage Day, we celebrate it with the entire nation!

Heritage Day reminds us of the importance of passing down our culture, language, and traditions to the next generation. Teaching children about their heritage from an early age:

Builds pride and confidence in who they are
Strengthens family and community bonds
Encourages respect for diversity and unity in our nation

Parents, let us continue nurturing our little ones with the values, stories, and traditions that make us uniquely South African. 🇿🇦

Happy Arbour Week! (01-07 September)

This week we celebrate the beauty and importance of trees with our little ones. At , we believe it’s never too early to teach children about caring for our environment.

Our Kiddies are learning how trees give us fresh air, shade, fruit, and a safe home for birds and animals. Together, we’ll be planting, creating fun tree-themed crafts, and discovering why trees are so special.

Let’s raise a generation that loves and protects nature!

Parents, join in the fun by talking to your child about the trees around your home or taking a walk in the garden/park to spot different trees.

Mental Muscle ~ Train the Brain to Remember!

At Kiddies Day Care Centre, we believe a child’s brain is like a muscle... the more we use it, the stronger it gets!

That’s why we make learning fun and engaging every single day. Through songs, puzzles, stories, and creative games, we help little minds grow sharper, stronger, and more confident.

Memory games & puzzles
Singing rhymes & action songs
Story time & retelling in their own words
Drawing, matching & thinking games

Here are some fun ways to boost memory at home:
Play “What’s Missing?” with toys
Let them finish your sentences
Ask them to describe their day in detail
Try simple memory card games together

Every moment is a chance to build strong mental muscles and we’re here to support your child every step of the way!

Perceive to Achieve: Understanding and Supporting Perceptual Skills in Learning

At Kiddies Day Care Centre, we believe every little mind is full of potential and that potential starts with how children perceive the world around them.

Perceptual skills are the building blocks of learning. These include how children see, hear, and interpret the things they experience from recognizing shapes and letters to understanding spatial awareness and movement.

Visual perception
Auditory perception
Tactile awareness
Spatial and body awareness

These skills are vital for reading, writing, problem-solving, and even playing with others!

This week, we're shining a light on Perceive to Achieve. Our approach to helping each child grow in confidence, coordination, and curiosity. Through fun, hands-on activities and intentional play, we nurture the skills that support successful learning now and into the future.

Parents, keep an eye on your child’s drawings, puzzle solving, rhythm clapping, and even their hop-and-skip routines...these are all signs of growing perceptual skills!

Together, let’s help our little ones perceive the world clearly so they can achieve confidently!

*Laying the Groundwork for a Bright Academic Future*

At Kiddies Day Care Centre, we believe that the early years are the most important chapter in a child’s learning journey. That’s why every song we sing, every game we play, and every story we read is thoughtfully designed to build strong cognitive, emotional, and social foundations.

Brain-building activities ..From puzzles and sensory play to creative arts and movement, we stimulate curiosity and critical thinking in ways that feel like fun.

Confidence & independence – Our nurturing environment encourages children to explore, make choices, and learn at their own pace, building the self-esteem they’ll carry into primary school and beyond.

Early literacy and numeracy – Through age-appropriate activities, children begin recognizing letters, numbers, shapes, and sounds, setting them up for future classroom success.

Language development – We support expressive and receptive language through songs, rhymes, storytelling, and daily conversation, because great communication skills start young.

The habits and skills we help build today become the tools our little ones will use to succeed tomorrow!

Enrollments are open! Give your child a head start in a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.
