With a drive and passion for personal well being, Ayurveda began to take the center stage in my life. Along with it came the need to server others. This journey started in 2009 with a trip to the Himalayas which led me through snow-capped mountains, villages, caves, monasteries and eventually to the home of my Guru at an ashram in the south of India. It was there that i stayed, and received a taste of what would later become a life calling.
Four years in a hut shared with five other boys, inside a jungle on the side of a lake taught me the value of simplicity and togetherness.......what we call Samgachatwan in Sanscrit. Waking up at 3:30am every morning, working throughout the day, and enjoying knowledge, singing and dancing in the evening taught me the value of Carpe Diem or seizing the day. Doing Sadhana (spiritual practice), observing Ayurveda and eating wholesome nutritious food in a positive environment taught me the value of energy and how to conserve as well as maximise it in the day.
These are the gifts I brought home with me from India. Vishal Ayurveda started as a need, a need to cure myself first, from a life-threatening auto-immune condition. Subsequently, to help friends and family in certain areas of their lives that Ayurveda readily had the answers to. As the result of treating loved ones, requests were made to broaden the area of reach. This is why you are reading this today. What started in my own little cottage in a plot in Glen Austin Midrand has now expanded (just a little bit) to become its own dedicated space for your health and well-being.
You are most welcome to this space. While these are still humble beginnings, this space has been created just for you. Come and share some of your life with us and we will see, together, how Ayurveda can make it one that is more rewarding in terms of time and energy as well as one that moves your life toward being disease free. We are in this together.
