September commemorates International Deaf Awareness Month. This began following the first world congress of the World Federation of the Deaf which took place in September 1951.

This month aims to promote inclusion for the Deaf and to outline the positive aspects of the Deaf community.

Over this month we will be sharing information related to Deaf Culture, Sign Language, hearing loss and ways to make it easier when communicating with people that are Deaf or have difficulty hearing.
