In a career spanning over 30 years, there are a number of milestones and turning points that paved the way to my current place as a Physiotherapist with a multi-disciplinary approach to womenβs health and pain management.

sector hospitals
1992: Opened own practice, Jayshree Makan Physiotherapy
1995 - 2005: Worked as a physiotherapist, as well as in staff and client relations and
administration in husband's retail business

My areas of focus
My postgraduate studies included womenβs health modules and a national certification in pain management - both of which are special interests for me within my line of work. This has led me to my current focus areas dealing with pelvic conditions. These include chronic pain, bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction that is related to pelvic floor muscular functionality.
As I have always been committed to my own mental, spiritual and emotional growth, the Enneagram system became an integral part of both my work and family life and it was my enthusiasm for the system and the power of its teachings which led me to register for the teachers training programme. This self-development tool has created a wealth of experience and skill in working with people from various backgrounds. I have a deep sense of respect for the people I work with, and my approach to each individual and their growth is that of supportiveness, encouragement and positivity.
As an experienced Physiotherapist with a special interest in pain management and women's health, I aim to treat patients with a biopsychosocial approach, empowering patients as they collaborate with me towards a wellness and improved quality of life.
