Today, we pause to honour the life and legacy of Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Grandmaster of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. As the granddaughter of Hawayo Takata, she carried the lineage with immense grace and spent her life ensuring that the heart of Reiki reached every corner of the world.

We are so grateful for her wisdom and the spiritual path she helped illuminate for so many. Her legacy lives on in the hands and hearts of practitioners everywhere.

Today, March 19, 2026, Brings in the Autumn Equinox, which marks a beautiful moment of balance for us.

Technically, the "astronomical" equinox occurs over the next 24 hours, but today is the day we officially feel the shift. Here is why today is special:

* The Great Balance: Today, day and night are almost exactly equal in length. It’s that rare moment where the Earth isn’t tilting toward or away from the sun.
* Hello, Autumn: In South Africa, this is the official "curtain call" for summer. Get ready for those crisp mornings and golden leaves (and a few heatwaves in-between)!
* A Time for Reset: Culturally, the equinox has always been a symbol of harvest and reflection. It’s the perfect day to find a little extra balance in your own life.

We’re also gearing up for Human Rights Day this weekend, to honour those who fought for Democracy.

So, whether you’re grabbing a light jacket for the first time or just enjoying the sunset hitting exactly due west, happy Equinox!

Today marks 100 years since the passing of Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki.

His simple yet profound gift to the world continues to flow across generations, cultures, and healing traditions. What began as one man’s spiritual quest has grown into a global practice that has touched the lives of millions, bringing comfort, balance, healing, and a deeper connection to life itself.

Today we pause in gratitude for Usui Sensei’s dedication, wisdom, and courage to share this path with the world.

May we honour his legacy not only with words, but through the way we practise Reiki with humility, compassion, and integrity.

Thank you, Usui Sensei, for the light you brought into this world.
Your legacy continues through every healing hand and open heart.
