Our Story

Since its foundation in 2004 as a small practice in the town of Ermelo, Hannes Zwarts Eye Care has grown into one of the most reputable and respected practices in the province.

It has always been their aim to practice full scope Optometry and the practice is equipped with state of the art diagnostic instrumentation and has the necessary certification to use and prescribe diagnostic – and therapeutic pharmaceuticals. Although the practice had an in house laboratory for the cutting of lenses from the start, it now also boasts a full-fledged laboratory imported from Kentucky U.S.A. able to manufacture a variety of spectacle lenses within an hour.

A satellite practice was opened in 2011 in the neighbouring town of Bethal to expand the availability of their services.
