hello everyone !🩵

We're reaching out with heavy hearts and hope in our hands. Our precious baby has recently been diagnosed with fluid buildup in his brain, a condition that could seriously impact his development and health. The doctors have advised that he needs a brain scan as soon as possible to understand the severity and determine the next steps.

As young parents, we're doing everything we can, but we're currently struggling to find steady work, and the cost of the scan is more than we can afford right now. It's incredibly hard to ask for help, but we know we can't do this alone.

If you're in a position to donate even the smallest amount..it would mean the world to us and give our baby a fighting chance. And if you're unable to give, sharing this message would also help more than you know.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you can offer. We're holding on to hope with everything we've got.🩵

A Message from a Mother's Heart.💔

Today has been one of the most difficult days of my life. My precious baby boy, who is still in the NICU in Pietermaritzburg, was recently diagnosed with RSV. As if that wasn't enough, we received the devastating news today that he has fluids on his brain. Every moment feels heavy with worry and hope, as we watch over him with love and prayer.

It's hard to find words to describe the pain of seeing your newborn struggle to breathe, to eat, to rest-when all you want is to hold them and promise everything will be okay.
The doctors and nurses have been incredible, but the road ahead is uncertain and overwhelming.

I'm reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your kindness and support. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us cover the mounting medical costs and give our son the best chance to heal and thrive. Your generosity would mean the world to us in this time of need.

Thank you for keeping our little fighter in your thoughts and prayers.🩵🩵

After weeks of fighting, our little warrior made it home. It was the happiest moment of our lives. But our journey is far from over.

Because he was born premature, he now needs an urgent eye test and possible surgery (as he has hernia) Gauteng the closest place where specialists can help. Unfortunately, our medical aid does not cover all the costs of his care, and as young parents just starting out, we are financially overwhelmed. Between NICU bills, travel costs, follow-up tests, and the upcoming operation, we’re facing more than we can manage.

We are humbly asking for your help.

Every cent donated will go directly toward his medical expenses and travel to get him the care he desperately needs. If you can’t donate, sharing our story would mean the world.

We know times are tough for many, and we don’t take this ask lightly. But if you’ve ever known the love of a child or the fear of not being able to give them everything they need...you understand.

He’s already proven how strong he is,now we just need a little help to give him the chance he deserves.🩵

To the Incredible NICU Team, Our Family, and Friends🩵

Today with hearts overflowing with joy we bring our beautiful baby boy home after 52 long emotional and life changing days in the NICU. Born too soon and faced with infection and challenges our little miracle fought with everything he had and you, the Doctor and nurses, fought right alongside him.

There are no words that could ever fully express the depth of our gratitude. To the nurses who became like family...thank you for every feed, every gentle touch, every reassuring word and every quiet moment you spent watching over our boy when we couldn't.🤍

You cared for him as if he were your own. To the doctor...thank you for your wisdom your relentless effort and your commitment to helping him grow strong and healthy. You gave him a chance at life and for that we are forever in your debt.😊

The journey was anything but easy. As a mother it broke me and rebuilt me in ways I never imagined.❤️ The fear, the tears, the longing just to hold him without wires, to hear his cry, to bring him home...they were so heavy. ❤️‍🩹But so was the love.

And with every gram he gained, with every milestone he reached, my pride grew deeper. He now weighs 1.815kg, and every single gram is a triumph a reminder of his strength.🕊️

To our family and friends...your prayers, your messages, your unwavering support carried us through our darkest days. Thank you for holding us up when we didn't know how to take another step.🩵

Baba du Plessis is a true fighter, a miracle sent from above.😍He came into this world too early, but right on time to teach us what true strength, hope, faith and love really look like.✨

Most importantly thank you YHWH ! we would not have gone through this without God.🤍

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you🤍🩵

update on baba Du Plessis !🩵

First of i want to apologize for the late update...it was a little hard for me as a Mother and i do hope you all understand as i am not ready to share the cause of his infection x

In the update of yesterday i did mention that they are testing my breastmilk...turns out there is something wrong with my milk.

Like i said it is really hard as a mother because i am blaming myself for feeding him into sickness...but i did not know that there was something wrong with my milk and it is not my fault but it is really hard not to blame myself so i am in a bit of a state so i apologize if i'm not getting to many of your messages and comments but i want to give a BIG thank you to everyone that has donated so far, it truly means alot to us🥰💔

Last night when they found out about my breastmilk they immediatly switched to a very light formula and since they gave him the light formula his infection count went down with 40 ! which is the best news ever🥺🥺 his infection count is still in the 300's but we take day for day🥰

He looks much better, he is moving more, crying more...you can just see his energy coming back little for little🥺🥺

He will not be fed for 2-3 days because his tummy is very swollen due the oxygen machine "SiPaP" and his skin is still a little yellow but other then that i am just glad our baby boy is healing and i just want to thank YHWH our Heavenly Father and for everyone's prayers.!🥺❤️

Please keep our beautiful boy in your prayers !☺️🩵✨

little update on Baba Du Plessis !🩵

After his blood transfusion last night he does look better but his skin is yellow now ( jaundice ) so they are going to stop his TPN drip which gives him the nutritions that he needs because that's what causing his yellow skin.

They also have him on another drip today and will be giving him panado...because as they explained, he feels the same way as we do when we get migraines so it may ease his pain a little.🩵

I do breastfeed (pumping atm as i am not allowed to breastfeed because of his weight ) so i have to bring the milk to them in milk storage bags. ( i always make sure that i clean it properly )They say his infection count is getting higher so it might be something that he is consuming regularly which might be my milk...so they are testing the ones in the storage bags and the fresh expressed milk that i had to express this morning at the NICU... so far we got the results for the milk in the storage bags which has no bacteria...but it takes up to 5 days to get 100% results. It is pretty hard for a mother to hear something like that because you have all these thoughts of blaming yourself because you might be the reason for his sickness💔😭

They are only able to test the infection count tomorrow again, but baby boy is very strong !🩵

I'm Valerie Du Plessis,19 years old and married.
I would like to tell my story and the story of our beautiful boy.🩵

I had a very tiring and hard pregnancy...just like some mothers do so i thought it was normal, had no energy to do anything, my feet, legs, hands, arms and face was so swollen to the point that it was painful which i thought was normal in pregnancy like everyone makes it out to be.( turns out i had very high pregnancy BP which was super risky for me and baby Du Plessis )

At 32 weeks i haven't felt baby Du Plessis move or kick in 3 days and i knew something was wrong so i went to hospital, they did a cardiotocographs ( CTG ) to monitor baba's heartbeat and everything was perfectly fine. My OB said i should just do an ultrasound to be 100% sure...came out that i had big problems with my placenta and baby has not grew in 4 weeks due to my umbilical cord tearing from my placenta...luckily it made a blood clot otherwise i would've bled out and baby Du Plessis wouldn't have made it.

Had to do an emergency C-section and during my C-section my BP went over 207...fast forward to Baba Du Plessis.

Baba Du Plessis wat born at 7:32 P.M on the 26th Feb and was 1.135kg and 36cm.🩵 Baby was very healthy apart from his lungs not being 100% developed which is normal for a premie so he had to be on a oxygen machine called a C-Pad and also as a premie he had a few episodes where he forgets to breath but he did come right on his own which was very very good.

He was doing so well the past few days until Sunday when we got very bad news. Baby Du Plessis got a very high risk Infection count over 280 for Meningitis.💔 He got started on treatment right away. They did brain scans and there was no bleeding or anything in his brain except for the Meningitis. He had to get a blood transfusion last night due to his PH levels in blood being low. Went to visit him like i do every single day and doc said he was doing better and his skin wasn't as pale and is starting to get more pink.

Got a call few minutes ago that he is not doing well at all and that he needs another blood transfusion and that his infection count is higher and went up to 396.💔😭

Please keep our little fighter in your prayers.🩵✨
