Drive through COVID testing, fully operational at MEDICARE MEDICAL CENTER, 85 BIRD STREET, NEWCASTLE, KZN.

As a result of the increasingly urgent need to speed up Covid-19 testing, as well as the increasing cases daily, Universal Pathology Laboratory (UPL) are offering a drive through testing station at Medicare Medical Center.

Nursing practitioners are facilitating swab tests in the convenience of your car.

Please note that results may be delayed due to public holidays, weekends and logistical reasons.

Tests will be carried out by fully trained registered nurses.
The test being used is the same as the one presently utilised by healthcare practitioners and they are carried out exactly as they are at various laboratories.

The testing process is simple –

Patients will be asked to complete NICD documentation.

*The PCR covid tests are R700 and rapid tests are R350.

*All results will be logged through the NICD so that it can go through to the DOH.

*All testing sites will be active from 09H00 – 16H00, , no bookings required.

*Please be at the testing site before 15H30.

All the staff will be wearing protective gear and we have proper medical waste disposal.

*All information will be confidential.

*Testing available based on space availability and while testing kit stock lasts.

With over 10 years physiotherapy experience he treats various conditions such as back and neck pain, headaches, orthopaedic conditions, soft tissue injuries, nerve damage or injuries, post-operative orthopaedic conditions.

He also has a keen interest in orthopedics and has extensive experience working with high profile athletes.

Sthembiso qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010 at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (B.Sc Physiotherapy).

He completed his community service as a junior physiotherapist at Madadeni hospital.

He is experienced in doing dry needling treatments and orthopedic manipulation techniques.
