The face is supplied by the trigeminal nerve — the largest cranial nerve in the body — carrying sensory signals from your teeth, gums, jaw, and sinuses directly to the brainstem.
Inside each tooth is a confined pulp chamber packed with blood vessels and nerve fibers. When inflammation develops, pressure builds in a rigid space. The nerve has nowhere to expand — so pain escalates quickly.

That is why a small cavity can feel overwhelming, and why dental pain often radiates to the head, temple, or ear🪥🦷

A 3 unit valplast/ flexible partial denture done to replace 3 missing teeth. These dentures perform with the aesthetics and comfort of a bridge but are more economical. They are comfortable and durable , the only down side being that they are removable

🦷💉Your Toothy Thursday fact➡️Teeth are built differently from most tissues in the body. The outer layer, enamel, is the hardest substance we have, yet it contains no living cells. Without cells or blood vessels, it cannot regenerate or repair itself once worn down or affected by decay. Unlike skin or bone, there's simply no internal healing system in enamel.
Beneath enamel lies dentin, which has limited ability to respond to mild irritation by forming reparative dentin. However, this process is slow and cannot fix major structural damage. If problems reach the pulp, the inner soft tissue, vitality can be lost and professional treatment becomes necessary.💉🦷🪥So this month of love , Love your teeth ❤️

Lets talk about this patient who came into my practice with severe untreated periodontal disease.Periodontal disease is infection of the gum and bone around teeth.It caused his teeth to loosen and shift position(rotate and drift). Gums also were bleeding and this contributed to bad breath.The condition was so poor we had to do a full mouth extraction of his remaining teeth (as he had already lost teeth due to this)and make upper and lower dentures. This improved his smile and confidence and he could eat without pain and difficulty chewing .Periodontal disease is preventable by brushing twice a day, flossing , 6 month dental checkups and ensuring gingivitis doesn’t start and progress at all.
