Take the guesswork out of your postpartum return to exercise: Kicking off on Tuesday 20 January, join us in-studio for our New Year’s installment of our postpartum core restore strength building classes for new moms.

These classes are suited for moms who are over 6 weeks postpartum who have been cleared for exercise by their doctor/gynae but aren’t quite certain where to start.

5 simple rules to build muscle for longevity

1. Train for progression, not exhaustion
Muscle grows when the body senses increasing mechanical tension over time, not when you’re constantly sore or wiped out.

2. Eat enough protein per meal
Aim for 30–50 g of protein per meal to reach the leucine threshold and actually trigger muscle protein synthesis.

3. Recover like it matters
Sleep and nervous system recovery determine how much muscle you keep and build, especially as you get older.

4. Move through full ranges of motion
Controlled strength through range builds resilient muscle that protects joints and posture long term.

5. Be consistent, not extreme
Muscle built slowly and maintained consistently is what protects you for decades, not short transformation phases.
