🦌💚 A Little Bushbuck, A Big Moment 💚🦌

This week, we had a special visitor from [ – Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife], a tiny bushbuck needing X-rays and a full check-up at Northdene Vet. While the vets did their amazing work, our very own Leanka had the honour of bottle-feeding and comforting him during his stay.

And just after finishing his bottle…
✨ He leaned in and kissed her on the nose. ✨

It was one of those unforgettable moments—the kind that reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

🦅✨ Royalty in Our Care – The Crowned Eagle ✨🦅
This week, we had the rare honour of treating one of Africa’s most formidable and majestic raptors – the Crowned Eagle.

Nicknamed the "leopard of the sky", this eagle isn’t your average bird of prey. With talons strong enough to crush bone and a wingspan of nearly 2 meters, the Crowned Eagle can take down prey as large as small antelope and monkeys – making it one of the most powerful eagles in the world.

To see one up close is an experience in itself. To treat one? That’s a privilege we won’t soon forget.
With piercing eyes, a regal crest, and unmatched strength, this eagle was a true wild warrior – and we’re proud to have played a role in its journey to healing.

🌍 Native to dense African forests, the Crowned Eagle is elusive and rarely seen by the public.
Today, we celebrate its resilience and the chance we had to stand in awe of nature’s raw power.

❄️🐶 If it's too cold for YOU, it's too cold for THEM! 🐱❄️

With these chilly temperatures rolling in, don’t forget—our pets feel the cold too!

🐾 Small breeds, puppies, seniors, and short-haired pets are especially vulnerable.
🐾 Cold weather can lead to hypothermia, stiff joints, and even respiratory illness.
🐾 Make sure they have warm, dry shelter, cozy bedding, and limit outdoor time, especially overnight.

If you're bundling up, so should they! 🧣🐾 Keep your furry family members safe and warm this winter. ❄️💙
