Following the devastating deaths of children in Soweto due to food poisoning earlier this year, our 4th year student group in Khayeltisha, led by site facilitator Judith Mahlangu and head of division, Prof. Leslie London, explored the issue of food safety practices and food labelling through various health promotion activities, including engagement on Zibonele FM 98.2 UCT School of Public Health UCT Faculty of Health Sciences Nisha Jacob

PhD Opportunity: Public Health
We are seeking a candidate with values rooted in social justice and an interest in public health to join the Collaboration for Harm Reduction and Alcohol Safety in the Environment (CHASE-SA) research project team at the University of Cape Town, School of Public Health.

The successful candidate will conduct research on alcohol supply chains and interventions to address alcohol-related harms in South Africa and Botswana.
