LET US EDUCATE EACH OTHER ON DISABILITIES
What are the different types of disabilities?
An individual can have multiple types of disabilities based on their medical history. Few may have or even many but the challenges are quite common. Here are the common disabilities,
Cerebral palsy:
A brain injury or abnormality that results in a loss of muscle control is referred to as cerebral palsy. The illness can result in involuntary movements, speech impairment, and muscular spasms or tightness. Typically, it manifests during pregnancy or the early stages of infancy. There can be learning disabilities in adults over time if proper treatment is not received.
Muscular dystrophy:
A genetic condition known as muscular dystrophy (MD) affects the genes that control the synthesis of muscle proteins. Although MD causes progressive muscular degeneration in a wide range of people, it primarily affects children.
Multiple sclerosis:
The disease known as multiple sclerosis (MS) is brought on by the breakdown of the myelin sheath surrounding a personās nerve cells, which results in improper or nonexistent brain-skeletal muscle function. Numerous symptoms, including tremors, weakness, numbness, unstable walking, spasticity, slurred speech, muscle stiffness, impaired memory, and partial or complete paralysis, are associated with multiple sclerosis (MS), and they tend to change over time.
Parkinsonsā disease:
Parkinsonās disease is a disorder of the central nervous system that can result in tremors and stiffness in the muscles. Advanced case users might not be able to operate a keyboard, mouse, or voice interface, meaning they would need to use sophisticated assistive technologies in order to browse the internet.
Limb loss:
When an arm or hand is injured, limb loss or damage may affect a personās capacity to use a computer. Certain forms of traumatic limb damage, like nerve damage, can impair a limbās functionality without changing how it looks.
