Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics is a field which deals with the evaluation of a patient,fitting and manufacturing of an artificial limb,orthopaedic device or brace. This includes supportive,corrective and post operative orthotics. Spinal,wrist,hand ,leg ,foot orthotics, custom innersoles as well as compression hosiery all fall part of our field. A Medical Orthotist and Prosthetist may also take

a mould of a part of the patients body that will be fitted with a brace or artificial limb. He or she will also select the appropriate material,fit,test and adjust the device as well as advise patients on the use of the device and,if need be repair and update the prosthetic or orthotic device.
