One of the most common knee injuries in netball is an ACL tear, often caused by sudden stops, pivots, or awkward landings. Players may feel a “pop,” followed by pain, swelling, and instability.

A complete ACL tear rarely heals on its own and typically requires surgical reconstruction to restore knee stability and allow a safe return to sport. At Winelands Knee Clinic, we specialise in the accurate diagnosis and surgical management of ACL injuries. After surgery, patients are referred for further rehabilitation with physiotherapists and biokineticists to ensure a safe and strong return to activity.

Last week, Dr North had the privilege of attending the SAOA Congress in Pretoria.

He presented on “The Role of PFJ Replacement in Patella Instability” and led a panel debate on “Controversies in Posterior Lateral Corner and PCL Injuries.”
