🚶♂️👣 Did you know walking backward is an important skill — especially as we get older?
The 3-Meter Backwards Walk Test is a quick, simple way to check your balance and mobility by seeing how fast you can walk backward 3 meters (about 10 feet).
Why does it matter?
⏳ If it takes more than 4.5 seconds, there might be a higher chance of falls
✅ Taking less than 3 seconds is usually a good sign!
This test is especially helpful for people with conditions like Parkinson’s Disease or for older adults, as it can catch early balance issues that don’t show up with regular walking.
🕐 It only takes 1-2 minutes!
⚠️ It’s one piece of the puzzle — doctors and therapists use other tests too, to get the full picture of your balance and strength.
Why bother? Because catching balance problems early can help prevent falls and keep you doing the things you love — like playing with grandkids, running errands, and enjoying your favorite activities!
