At Val de Vie Estate, birds are a natural part of everyday life. The Estate features a 40-hectare Renosterveld biodiversity corridor, which is one of South Africa’s rarest ecosystems. So far, 151 bird species have been recorded here.

For Val de Vie Evergreen residents, bird watching is one of the Estate’s simple pleasures and a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors.

Reflecting on 2025 at Val de Vie Evergreen 🌿

2025 has been a busy and rewarding year at Val de Vie Evergreen. Here are a few highlights that stood out:

🌿 The 4200m² Val de Vie Evergreen Lifestyle Centre opened and has already become a central hub for residents. It is the largest wellness centre on the Estate and the most comprehensive of its kind in South Africa.

🌿 The six-lane bowling green at the Val de Vie Evergreen Lifestyle Centre have been well used from day one, quickly becoming a favourite spot for residents.

🌿 Our fifth development phase, Silver Leaf, launched this year. It marks an important step forward for Val de Vie Evergreen and sets a new standard for excellence of retirement living on the Estate.

🌿 A proud moment came at the Garden of the Year Competition, in partnership with . For the first time, the Overall Garden of the Year award went to Val de Vie Evergreen residents. Congratulations to Des and Charmaine Gower on their beautiful garden and well-earned achievement.

🎄 The annual Val de Vie Christmas Market, presented by Val de Vie Evergreen and hosted at the new Lifestyle Centre, was a festive hit.

Thank you to every resident for being part of the year’s progress and milestones. Here’s to 2026 and everything it may bring.

The Val de Vie Christmas Market, brought to you by Val de Vie Evergreen 🎄✨

The annual Val de Vie Christmas Market was held on Saturday 29 November at the Val de Vie Evergreen Lifestyle Centre, where residents, friends and families gathered for a relaxed start to the festive season.

More than 50 stalls offered everything from pancakes and handmade gifts to clothing and festive treats. The Wiesenhof Lifestyle Restaurant, Bar and Deli stayed busy throughout the day, with people stopping in for coffee and lunch.

Children enjoyed the jumping castle and face painting, while families browsed the stalls and spent time catching up with neighbours.

Funds raised on the day went to the Athlone House of Strength, a safe house for women and children.

Enjoy browsing over 50 vendors, live entertainment and family-friendly activities. Treat yourself to seasonal food and drinks from the Wiesenhof Lifestyle Restaurant, Bar and Deli and tune in as RSG broadcasts live from the event.

The market is open to the public, so gather your friends and family for a fun day out. Please remember to bring a valid driver’s license and license disk for entry at the Estate gates.

Parking is available at The Yard Wellness Centre. From there, enjoy a short, scenic walk through the Val de Vie Evergreen central park, past the fountain, to reach the market.

Proceeds will go towards Athlone House of Strength, a safe house for women and children.
