St Stephen’s Oncology Centre is the first comprehensive Oncology Centre in the Winelands district, situated at number 6 School Street, Northern Paarl. It opened its doors for Oncology services in November of 2014 with a Sub-acute Hospital, licensed to operate as of 2015. The Premier of Western Cape officially open the centre on 6 March 2015. St Stephen’s is the first Oncology unit in the Boland, p

roviding a vital and convenient service cancer care to the local community, as well as patients from surrounding districts. Patients are now able to receive radiotherapy, chemotherapy as well as palliative care at this facility. With an oncologist on-site daily, patients can be treated fast and effectively, and continue follow-up visits in their own community.

MEET WHO CARES:
Dr Lydia Punt our Oncologist, was born and bred in Paarl and receiving her Medical Degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1992. She worked as a General Practitioner for 13 years and found an interest in Oncology. She completed her MMed (RadOnc) in 2008 and embarked on the profession of Clinical Oncology from 2009. Lydia has a passion for the local and surrounding rural communities and her deep-seated spirituality enables her to relate to her patients with the utmost compassion, love, and kindness.
