Natural Births provides a midwifery model of care based on the assumption that for most women pregnancy and childbirth is a normal physiological process. Care is focused on maximizing the health and wellbeing of the mother and her baby through consultation, education and attending to the emotional, social and spiritual aspects of pregnancy and birth. The unique rhythm, character and timing of each woman’s pregnancy is protected and supported while being vigilant in identifying women with complications and referring them for medical expertise and interventions.
