Imbalenhle Community Health Center

Imbalenhle Community Health Center Imbalenhle Community Health Centre is situated at Imbali, Unit 3 (Ward 22) East of Pietermaritzburg. Nurses were trained to render family planning services.

Imbalenhle CHC started with a few nurses who were rendering health services to the community. The CHC has 6 feeder Municipal Clinics who refer to it and patients are then refered to Edendale Hospital. The clinic then, provided Preventive strategies, Youth services, minor ailment treatment, maternity as well as baby clinic services operating Monday – Friday 07:00 – 16:00. Services were rendered by few dedicated nurses who were dealing with many patients at a time.In 2004 Imbalenhle CHC started to operate 24hrs. It currently has a headcount of ± 25000 patients per month. The staff of Imbalenhle CHC managed to work under pressure with limited staff and extended hours of work (8hrs to 24hrs) and limited resources. Imbalenhle CHC staff continued to commit and dedicate themselves in providing quality health care services to the people. Imbalenhle CHC grew and provided additional services by having an ARV site (also offering HCT), as well as Dental services. Imbalenhle CHC currently has 8000 registered clients since the accreditation of Imbalenhle CHC ARV Rollout Programme and the extension of the medical services has impacted positively on health care.

Ama nurse Azobe ekhona kwi CHC. Siyacela ukuba nibambisane nathi kulesisimo.
