What an interesting read! Though it doesn't surprise me - diet affects all areas of one's life. So my family bought a few extra packets of dried pulses (beans, lentils, split peas) for use during the national lockdown. Not everyone has a Peruvian mother-in-law in their home to cook delicious meals with these pulses but there really are many simple recipes available that turns 500g of pulses into a healthy ans tasty meal for the whole family. Last night we had cream of pea soup made from green split peas and it was very more-ish. Anybody else have some tasty ideas?

Interesting article in the Natal Witness today about Nutrition Myths.
I will highlight 3 facts from this article:
1. Eggs are not bad for cholesterol. They are naturally high in cholesterol but have no detrimental effect on LDL chol particle size.
2. Fats are not the enemy. Eat a good amount of natural fats everyday (nuts, avos, olive oil, seeds, butter).
3. Juiced vegetables and fruits are not better than whole, intact veg and fruits. Juicing extracts all the fibre and leaves one with the sugars. Fibre is the best part!

Proud of my efforts in nurturing my first baby tomato plants- from popping old baby tomatoes into a pot of soil, transplanting the seedlings into the garden, and patiently waiting for them to grow, bear fruit and finally turn red, one by one:) Yummy!
