101 laps around the Sun!

Mrs Val Parker turned 101 today! A special visit by Shorne and Moeketsi from The Witness yesterday resulted in a beautiful front page article in today's edition. It's such a special moment for someone who has always loved reading "all the little articles" in the newspaper. Surrounded by her family and Lodge "family", she was spoilt by cake, chocolates, flowers and a special "101 & still strong" t-shirt. Happy birthday Val, and enjoy your prawns for lunch.

When residents need help with daily living, including medical care, assisted living is great. In addition to what is provided through residential living, a carer comes alongside the older adult to assist them offering support and relief.

Living in a secure environment with easily accessible health and carer services, results in significant peace of mind for both older adults and their families.

We have three Oaks bedsitters available for purchase on a Life Rights basis at Woodgrove. The monthly levy includes caring and three meals a day.

Hoot & Toot - how cute 🦉👀

Whooo is going to catch the rats? WG was faced with a problem and thanks to Mary Thrash and Mark Laing WG is now home to two fledgling African Spotted Eagle Owls apply named Hoot and Toot by Cecil. Interesting fact according to Google - males hoot twice and the female responds with three😅. They are adaptable and often referred to as an "urban owl". After a couple of weeks they will leave their enclosure (there is an owlbox already installed) and be free to join the effective night staff.

A Braw Ceilidh at WG

The dining room was donned with tartans, kilts, thistles and heather and both the Flag of Scotland and the Lion Rampant for an evening to celebrate the Great Scott Robbie Burns. We followed the story interspersed with Scottish dancing, well known Scottish songs and a bagpiper! A formal address to the haggis was prepared but aye, alas, there was nae sign o' the haggis so a wee plan was made, the toastmaster plunged the dirk into the "haggis" and could recite the last line being "Gie her a Haggis". Thank you Kath and Crew and supporting performers for the great Scottish experience and "Long may yet lum reek" (long may your chimney smoke - a toast for long life and prosperity

LRH Christmas Lunch

With only two weeks until Christmas let's count our blessings and spread the magic of the season!
A special thanks to Robert and Des for the help with the decor, all the ladies and men involved in the moving of furniture, tables and chairs and, last but not least, Capital Caterers for the themed Xmas starter and delicious mains and dessert.
Well done to all the residents too for your inspired candy store/festive outfits - you delightful people really take festive to the next level!

Mowana Year End Function

As the year draws to a close, it's time to reflect on the progress of Mowana as it continues it's path to provide cutting-edge ageless living and person-directed support to those that need it. Thanks to Sharee and her cowhands for the superb table decor, Capitol for the lunch, Mosaic for the music and congratulations to all that received long-service certificates.
