💜 World Prematurity Day 2024 💜

What a privilege to have been a part of the prematurity journey of the incredible families that we came to know at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital. Each have such a unique and special place in our hearts...both a humbling and rewarding experience. For those that could not join us this year, we look forward to having you at next year's celebrations. Thank you to my wonderful team of dedicated nurses and supportive colleagues, always willing to go the extra mile. A massive thank you to all the beautiful beanies and octopuses that were donated to Mowbray Maternity Hospital over the last few weeks. You cannot imagine how much this helps. We need beanies for all seasons 😀Tannie Marietjie from Paarl, you are a superstar...box upon box, providing warmth and comfort. We hope that today was a special day to all the moms out there...new and old.
Thank you to the amazing nursing staff in the NICU at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital, that took time out of their busy day to create these beautiful Mother's Day cards for our new moms in the NICU. Each new mommy received a card with the footprint of their baby that could not be with them at home on their first Mother's Day. A small gesture that I'm sure they will treasure forever. It's the small things that count. That's why I love my team. 🧡🧡🧡 Life Healthcare

As nuwe ouers kan die slapelose nagte en oneindige onsekerheid in die die eerste paar maande na die geboorte van julle nuwe kleinding baie angstigheid veroorsaak. Met 'n nuwe baba oppad, veral as dit die eerste swangerskap is, het toekomstige ouers lang lysies van benodigdhede en die druk is groot om te koop, maar wat is noodsaaklik en wat kan vir eers bly ? Wat kan julle van julle swangerskap en geboorte ondervinding verwag ? Nuwe Mammas en Pappas, julle is glad nie alleen nie. DSTV het 'n nuwe reeks spesiaal net vir julle. Vanaf Woensdag, 5 October om 19h30 op kanaal 147 (Via) gaan 1,2,3 Ouers probeer om bietjie verligting te bring. One of our regular Octopus knitters sent me this picture to show that even furry babies have the need for a little Octopus comfort sometime... We have run out of octopuses! So sending out an SOS to our generous benefactors to keep knitting ! 👾 💜

A warm shout out to Mrs Tasneem Moosajee and her generous group of friends who donated some much needed preterm nappies for World Prematurity Day. We will distribute these with love. Such an amazing day with my colleagues at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital. As always such enthusiasm and energy to make it happen. Next year we have BIG plans for the little people. Watch this space.
