For many a new year means hope and excitement. For others it brings fear and dread. Many have lost loved once, battle with depression, financial stress or unemployment. How can one cope?

1. If you have been doing something over and over, and it is not working, do something different. Very often we try so hard to make something work that we miss opportunity's.
2. Getting out of a toxic situation doesn't mean that you quit. It means that you respect yourself and that you choose a new start.
3. Make a difference in one persons life a day. It will enrich you and bring you peace.
4. Take care of your yourself physically and emotionally. Self care is vital.
5. Do something new, no matter how small it is. Make your life an adventure.
6. Ask for help when you need it. It doesn't make you weak, asking for help takes courage.
7. Set goals that you can reach. Give yourself credit for every small achievement daily.
8. Focus on being positive. Positivity attracts people and opportunities. Negativity will only bring you down.
9. Make two boxes, one for goals and prayers and a" good thing" box. Write down your prayers and goals daily for the one and for the other a list of positive things that happened that day. It will change your mindset and help you see what you achieve.
10 Be kind to yourself and remember to live. Remind yourself that you matter.
