HAPPY DONKEY DAY!!😀

Just for the fun of it, I've compared two viewpoints about donkeys - the world's and the Bible's. I wonder who's going to read until the end.... 🤔🙂 If you've read until the end, leave "Done" in the comments. 😉👍

World Donkey Day is celebrated annually on May 8 to honor donkeys and raise awareness about their welfare.
World Donkey Day is an international observance dedicated to recognizing the hardworking and often underappreciated donkeys that have played vital roles in human history, from agriculture and transportation to trade and rural livelihoods. Donkeys are known for their endurance, persistence, intelligence, and ability to thrive in harsh climates, making them indispensable companions and laborers for centuries. Their stubbornness is often a reflection of their survival instincts, which has helped them endure challenging terrains and conditions.

History and Purpose

The day was created by Ark Raziq, a scientist focused on desert animals, who noticed that donkeys’ contributions were largely overlooked. He initially started raising awareness through a Facebook group, and in 2018, World Donkey Day was officially established. The purpose of the day is to educate the public about donkeys, celebrate their contributions, and promote their welfare, including advocating for humane treatment, veterinary care, and protection from neglect or abandonment.

How to Celebrate

There are several ways to participate in World Donkey Day:

Learn and Share: Research donkeys’ roles in history and modern society and share facts or stories on social media to raise awareness.

Visit a Donkey Sanctuary: If available locally, visiting a sanctuary or rescue center helps support their care and provides educational opportunities.

Support Donkey Welfare Organizations: Donate or volunteer with charities that provide medical care, rescue, and advocacy for donkeys worldwide.

Advocate for Donkey Rights: Promote better treatment and legal protections, especially in regions where donkeys are vulnerable.

Experience Donkey Activities: In some locations, you can take donkey rides or tours to better understand these animals’ capabilities and temperament.

Fun Facts

Donkeys have two ancestors: the Somali wild ass and the Nubian wild ass.
They can run up to 31 miles per hour and endure long distances while carrying heavy loads.
Donkeys have a lifespan of 50–54 years, longer than most working animals.
They communicate using snorts, squeals, grunts, and growls, and their large ears provide exceptional hearing.

World Donkey Day is a celebration of these remarkable animals, highlighting their resilience, intelligence, and enduring contributions to human society, while encouraging global efforts to improve their welfare and recognition.

In the Bible, the donkey symbolizes humility, service, peace, and obedience, often representing God’s work through the humble and faithful rather than through power or pride.

Humility and Service
The donkey is frequently associated with humility and service. Unlike horses, which symbolize power and war, donkeys were common beasts of burden in ancient times, used for carrying loads and transporting people. This practical role is mirrored in biblical narratives, where donkeys often symbolize faithful service and submission. For example, Balaam’s donkey in Numbers 22:22-30 demonstrates discernment and obedience, seeing the angel of the Lord and preventing Balaam from sinning, highlighting the donkey’s role as a humble yet perceptive servant of God’s will.

Peace and Kingship
Donkeys also symbolize peace and gentle leadership. In contrast to a conquering king riding a horse, a king or prophet riding a donkey signifies a peaceful mission. This is most famously illustrated in Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where He rode a young donkey, fulfilling Zechariah 9:9 and Matthew 21:5. This act emphasized that His kingdom is characterized by humility, peace, and servitude, rather than force or domination.

Divine Purpose and Obedience
Throughout the Bible, donkeys appear in moments of faith, obedience, and divine purpose. Abraham’s donkey carried supplies to Mount Moriah (Genesis 22), and Solomon rode a mule (a donkey crossbreed) during his anointing (1 Kings 1:33), symbolizing peaceful authority and God’s guidance. The Hebrew word for donkey, chamor, derives from a root meaning “to bear” or “to carry,” reinforcing the donkey’s role as a symbol of spiritual insight, obedience, and bearing burdens.

Practical and Spiritual Lessons
Donkeys were integral to daily life in ancient Israel, used for travel, trade, and agriculture. Spiritually, they teach lessons about service, responsibility, and supporting others, as reflected in Galatians 6:2, which encourages believers to “carry each other’s burdens.” The donkey’s quiet, humble presence in scripture reminds readers that God often works through the small, simple, and faithful, rather than through grandeur or might.

In summary, the donkey in the Bible is a powerful symbol of humility, faithful service, peace, and divine purpose, illustrating that true strength and leadership often manifest through obedience, gentleness, and the willingness to serve others.

Hi guys! Hope you're having fun so far this week?😀 If not, well, the week's not done yet. 😉👍

Today's topic is about moving forward. 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️

What does moving forward mean to you personally? A new house, buying a car, reaching the next career goal? Or, on a more personal level, recovery after an operation or divorce, restoration of a relationship? Even the next move you'll make after hearing devastating news or super exciting news. In different countries and in each person's life it can be so many different scenarios - the possibilities are endless.

The bottom line is - ARE you moving forward or are you stagnating, postponing or procrastinating? If you are moving forward in a positive manner, well done!! I'm cheering you on! 🥳

But it's not always that easy, right? We all go through difficult situations and sometimes we need to pull ourselves up by the ears to carry on. My heart goes out to everyone that's struggling in this area and my prayer is that this post will, in some way or other, help to mobilize you today, even anchor you in some way and help you to focus on the next step. 🙏

If you're moving forward in a negative way, if you are stagnating, postponing or procrastinating when you know you're supposed to take the next step, ask yourself WHY? Is it fear of people, fear of the unknown, fear of making the biggest mistake of your life, fear of rejection, fear of failure or something else?

Here are some things to consider:

Jesus has accepted us just as we are and has made us more than conquerors because He strengthens us. My friend, He is doing all the work that you cannot possibly do. So, stop beating yourself up, trying to impress people - you're accepted and highly cherished by the Creator of the universe, the opinion of man does not even compare. You're unique and special and can achieve so much more than you think you can. When you align yourself with God's Word (Prov 3: 5-6) and surround yourself with good and sound council (Prov 12: 15) you will have good success and become unstoppable!

Another fact - this life of yours is 100 % your responsibility!!! Yes, God helps us on so many levels, but He has also given us freedom of choice. The decisions we make daily are either leading us toward death or toward life. It's that simple. A little bit of tough love - nobody can live your life for you, take responsibility for your own life and decide how it will look like for the rest of your life. What do you want? Then aim for it and keep your focus on the end goal.

Just take the first step....and then the second...and then keep going. Before long, you will have momentum and will be on your way, moving forward to a better life!🏆🥇

Hi guys, the saying "trust your gut" is so true and I think most of us have experienced it in some way.

The story of GORILLA TOES 👣🦍🌻

This is a true story about a dear friend of mine. To protect her privacy we will call her May in this story.

May grew up in a country far from here. She was born in a semi-desert region and naturally played barefoot in the sand dunes and around the house most of her toddler life. As her family moved to other towns and she became a teen, May still enjoyed walking barefoot whenever she could. The result was that May developed rather broad feet with toes that gripped the earth with each step she took. That never bothered May or her siblings and friends until one day when her well respected aunt visited their family.

The aunt meant well when she referred to May's toes as "gorilla toes" but for the next 20 years that one remark had a profound impact on how May perceived and treated her feet. As May developed into a young woman, she started to wear high heels, shoes suited for church and work, shoes that squeezed her toes into the acceptable social form and together with little to no support for her feet, some issues developed with her feet, mainly altered bone formation. In turn, this lead to a bunion and the surgical removal thereof. (Totally unnecessary, if she only had known what she knows today)

Fast forward about 30 years and May gained heaps of knowledge about holistic health, including the benefits of walking barefoot. May trusted her gut and proofed it to herself, walking barefoot when she can, grounding herself, feeling the soil and grass under her feet, aligning her body's energy fields, balancing her hormones and as a result be a happier person.

Today it's a scientific fact that barefoot walking is the preferred way to go for your feet's wellbeing. Humans have always strived to become more civilized and in some ways have actually distanced themselves from nature and everything pertaining to it and yet, humanity have more health problems nowadays than 50 years or 100 years ago.

Now we need toe spacers and barefoot shoes to get our "gorilla toes" back! 😂😂

The bottom line is - take care of your feet, let your children walk barefoot as much as they can.

He is the perfect example of the fact that everyone can become the best version of him/herself. Have an awesome week everyone! 😀

A LIMB AWAY FROM LOVE

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've got a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know" the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was su***de. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognised him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know...their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there's Someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us 🙏

Hi guys, hope you've all been doing well since last week - crushing it on all sides 😀💪

Today's topic is something that we all love but sometimes, in the grown-up world, tend to neglect...our IMAGINATION. 💫 Now, before you judge and think I'm into hocus pocus stuff - keep on reading 😀

Everything that is real was imagined first - The velveteen rabbit

Actually guys, this principle originated from the Bible. Go and read the first few chapters of Genesis. God the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are one and a God of order (1 Cor 14:33, 40; Jer 31:35). They, the three persons of the God head, also deliberately meet and plan/discuss/imagine something before executing it (Luke 14:28-30; Prov 15:22). God is the first and best artist you will find anywhere (Prov 8:30-31). He is therefore, also the Creator of imagination. Not the world, not Walt Disney and certainly not the velveteen rabbit. God imagined and planned everything, always being ten steps ahead of the enemy, and then He said: "Let us begin". How wonderful and worthy to be praised is our God🙌🙏

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for" is the first part of Hebrews 11:1 (KJV), defining faith as the tangible assurance, foundation, or "realization" of future promises not yet seen. It means faith gives reality to hopes, acting as confident trust in God's promises rather than just wishful thinking.

Sounds a lot like imagination, doesn't it? Because that's exactly how it works. If you can see it, you can have it. If you can SEE 👀 yourself healed, successful etc., you will be, if you stay in faith.

I leave you with this thought:
What is the one thing that you desire right now? I am not talking about desires that we clearly know is wrong/sinful. Do you want to be healed? Do you have a son or daughter that's gone astray? Do you have a marriage problem with your spouse? What do you want the outcome to be? Can you imagine that outcome? How does it look? Can you describe it? Can you be specific? I challenge you to write it down and begin to SPEAK 👄 it. And it will be awesome to read your testimonies in the comments below. 🙌

Hi guys! 😀👋

It's been awhile, I admit.🙈 If I tell the whole story it will take forever so in short, we're in the US now and there's a lot going on in our lives (good though). 🎊 I made some minor changes to my page and while I was at it, took the time to scroll through my followers. 🧐 You're such an amazing group of individuals and I hope you will continue to find something for yourself with every new post. 😊🙏

So let's dive into today's topic. What's the take away after this Easter weekend?
Actually, a lot of things...if I have to sum it up into one word, it will definitely be a new word, like the pretend language of my granddaughter. 😅 But mainly, ACCEPTANCE.

We had the privilege to enjoy an Easter Sunday lunch together with new friends and some of their neighbors. So, why acceptance?🤔

1. Through Jesus's sacrifice we're forever accepted by the Father....if we choose to accept the gift of salvation that Jesus's death bought for us. 🙌💯

2. Acceptance of one another. There's a difference between tolerance and acceptance. By accepting that all people are imperfect, yes including yourself, you're actually taking a lot of stress off of yourself and the people around you. Once you've moved passed this realization, you'll be able to start seeing people differently, looking deeper than skin deep and really get to know the person behind the face. And maybe, just maybe, you will actually discover some area in that person's life where your specific gift or resource can provide relief or wisdom. 😊👌

3. Acceptance of self. Oh boy, I think this is the one that's the most difficult for a lot of us. Especially as we get older and everything's going south. 😅 Because our default is to look at appearances. And the deep seated fear of "will I be good enough" in any situation. An old trick of the enemy, especially for women. The only power that the enemy has is the power you give him by believing his deceptions. Why does it bother you in the first place what people think about you or what you're capable of doing (is it good enough)? I agree one must be presentable to a degree and not be sloppy in your work or conduct but once you've done what you can do, then stop worrying about that one hair out of place, that one wrinkle that's starting to form or the sauce that's not perfect in your own eyes. You are good enough for God just as you are so what can man do to you? 🤷‍♀️😀

When acceptance, peace and honesty is present, the rest really doesn't matter that much and tends to fade away.

With all of that said, let's try and practice acceptance this week...acceptance in the workplace, in the home, with our spouse, siblings, children, heck, even with the dog and cat!!🤪 Just leave the alligator out of it! 🤣

Hi guys, did you ever find yourself wondering why you're on this earth? Why were you created? 🤔 Maybe these questions were born out of frustration, self pity or even fear. It doesn't really matter. 🙃

What does matter, is the fact that God made you unique and wonderful. 😉👌✅️There's something inside of you that nobody else has...something you can do that nobody else can. And usually that "gift" gets exposed during the rough times in that key moments when YOU decide enough is enough. When YOU decide to stand up and stand strong for whatever the situation demands.🔥

Let me tell you a secret - if you choose to humble yourself before God in that moment and accept His guidance and input, you'll remain strong in your gifting and will be a useful vessel to the glory of our King, Jesus. 🙌

We all are impacting everybody around us on a daily basis. The question is - positively or negatively? In a Godly way or in an earthly, devilish way? Let's use our unique gifts to build up and not tear down. 💯
