One of my initiates has just passed through his first Fire Ceremony after completing the full twelve month Sacred Grove online mentorship program, structured in four parts.
He washed himself clean of the past in the attentive ocean, and is now more fully empowered to craft his own life of joy and service.

Have you ever practised eye gazing?
Such a simple yet deeply moving experience.

Here we, the Wild Men, are eye-gazing in pairs for a few minutes at a time, before changing partners two or three times. Gazing into the eyes of a fellow brother (/sister etc) brings up all kinds of normally hidden emotion and fear, along with that of pure joy in the mirror reflection of another.

Steve Faulconbridge and myself connected most deeply the first time we practised this together on a rewilding trail. In the firelight we truly witnessed each other, and that moment became the foundation of the trust we continue to build as we grow our work and brotherhood.

Steve and I have just started the 'Wild Man Fraternity', a grouping of all the Men that have been 'Rewilded' with us.

The MR team is back home after another epic Men's Rewilding Trail in Pafuri Kruger National Park.

Together we walked in to the African Big 5 wilderness for 5 days and nights to reconnect with the depth of our spirits and with our fellow brothers! ✨🌟🔥🦁

'Know thyself, Heal thyself'.
Transcript (recorded and transcribed by Ai!) from a short lecture, AHA event, 04 May 2024, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.

"According to ancient Greek and Roman authors, there were three philosophical maxims prominently inscribed upon the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, at which time, according to Pliny the Elder, they were written in letters of gold. One of them, the most commonly known, is ‘Know thyself’. So I want you to think about that just for a second. Some of the most profound prophecies that ever came into our knowledge, into our history, and one of them was ‘know yourself’. So originally in ancient worlds, from the Greeks and the Romans in the first century, know thyself was the first lesson to be declared.

Right from the very beginning, before Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, who earned a living talking about this and trying to figure it out- know thyself was really talking about know 'thy soul'. The big picture, the spirit. It has actually devolved in time to become ‘know your faults’. So there's a devolution in thought. We've gone from very high philosophical discussion about knowing my greatest gift, your soul, to meaning ‘know your faults and your limitations’!

In our culture we're brought up to know our limitations, know our boundaries, know where you should be, know where you fit. That's very helpful. But it also tends to constrict us. When we speak about being in a box and thinking outside of the box- well the box is a number of things. It's our own limitations of ourselves, partly because we've been given that.

My parents like to say, my mum said, ‘ah, don't talk kak, stay quiet’. Does that mean that I always talk rubbish? I don't know if you'd be here if that was the case. So was my mum wrong? No. At the time I was probably always talking kak, right? Okay. But if I'd made that a belief, then I wouldn't speak to anyone. How did I make the difference? My own mother told me I talk like a fool. Because I had to figure it out for myself. But I still took her opinion, and worked on it..."

Loving my new cedar flute from 🔥 Received the flute from Arizona last week and immediately started playing, feeling a deep and intuitive connection to this sacred instrument long before it was in my hands. A big thank you and blessing with gratitude to the inspiration, teachings and encouragement by brother .kokopelli who stayed with us recently.

For me this flute is a voice of prayer, joining in song with Father Sky the wind, playing from my heart to the heart of the cosmos. OK so obviously now I need some lessons Kailash!
