Day 20 of 21
Finding balance…….this seems to be evolving organically as a compass in me. A desire to allow balance to become me. So the less I do to try and be balanced the more balanced I am. In this place of balance I notice more and can do less with the more I notice about myself. In noticing more of myself I am in contact with the part of me that hide my essential essence….who I really am. So what can I do? I can do what I can until something changes and then I do that.

Nadi Shodhana, also known as alternate nostril breathing, is a yogic breathing technique that involves alternating the breath between the left and right nostrils.
It is a pranayama practice believed to purify and balance the body's energy channels, calm the mind, and promote relaxation

Day 19…. 2 to go

Noticing when I am bored with food so I don’t eat anything. Then watching how this influences my mood and energy levels.
Finding a balance in participating in social activities without compromising my commitment to myself in this experience.
Becoming aware of which foods I trust more than others. These foods of habit and I have a deep trust relationship. I can rely on them to make me feel really good regardless of the mental and physical consequences to my Beingness. This reminds me of my relationship with certain habits as well.
When I feel the call to an old habit because there is an old longing for something familiar, that will make me feel how I ‘know’ I feel, I wait a few minutes and magic happens….the desire goes dull and I have mental space to consider another option and choose something new I am exploring, in this case food, activity….etc.

Day 18

Focus on what you want…..but where does that “instruction’ originate in myself? Mental? Surely that’s an ‘idea’ of what I want. If I feel, could that feeling be guidance from a stronger more connected part of me? The part connected to the place in me that wants to be more healthy and present in my practice of Life?
This is something I have been exploring these 20 days. So yes it was about the cutting out of certain foods to cleanse the body and mind but it also gave me deeper insight into how I choose for myself. I notice how difficult is can be to choose for myself and how an old part that relies on old ’tastes’ is so much easier to trust. This trust comes out of the same choice being made over and over again. It is so old I forget how the choice originated. It just became important.
If I focus can I change it? I am playing with focus to occupy my mental activity so I can presence myself with feeling what my body tells me it needs. Slowly refining this skill and creating a new intuitive trust to guide healthier choices….food, etc.

Day 15 of 21 days of my Sattvic yoga experience. This day is about drishti……soft focus…..perhaps because my goal is so close.

What does this mean?
In yoga, drishti (Sanskrit: दृष्टि) refers to a specific point of focus for the eyes during a yoga pose or meditation. It's a technique used to enhance concentration, improve balance, and cultivate mindfulness by directing attention to a chosen focal point. Essentially, it's the practice of gazing at a specific point to help steady the mind and body.

Day 10……..MAT RESISTANCE

Despite an overwhelming feeling of Not Wanting to Practice, I got on my mat.
Why the Resistance? I love yoga?
I have spent a lifetime resisting feeling! So when I feel the resistance to stepping into my yoga practice, I know there are emotions that are asking for attention, an expression and getting on the mat would open that door.
If I don’t, I walk around with the heaviness of the unexpressed emotions. Why?
It’s my journey with resistance. A way I protect my sacred emotions. The ones I could not share at one time or another.
This is my deep embodied journey of yoga and my journey of healing through yoga.
Your journey with Mat Resistance will be different, but the same.

A part of us knows that when we get on the mat, we will experience some type of change. There is a part of us that is afraid of the change, and afraid of the emotion.
The knowing and the fear create the resistance.
We could look at it in another way.
When we feel the resistance to practicing, we know there is something glorious waiting for us on the mat – some kind of break-through, some kind of letting go, some kind of transformation.
In this way we can re-frame the feeling of resistance.
Instead of feeling resistance and buying into it… and resisting getting on the mat. Feel into the resistance and give it space.
And then get on your mat as fast as you can and face whatever needs to be faced.
Lots of lovely breath into the body, noticing with awareness and letting the resistance transform itself. The wisdom of the body will do this, just step out of the way.
Not all resistance is the same, and not all resistance requires the same response.
Some resistance is fear of change.
Some resistance is fear of feeling.
Some resistance is because your body is tired and wants a good rest – do yoga nidra instead!
Working with your resistance in this way, with total awareness, will re-wire your brain.
Eventually, whenever you feel resistance in your life, instead of buying into it and avoiding something, you’ll know to turn toward it and enquire into it’s nature so you know the best response.
You’ll be amazed at where this practice will take you, both on the mat, and off the mat.

DAY NO 9….of 21 days of yoga Sattvic
CHEWING 23 TIMES……. WHY?……
In yogic practices, it is often recommended to chew each mouthful of food at least 24 times, according to some yoga practitioners. This practice is believed to aid digestion by allowing saliva to break down food more effectively before it enters the stomach. It's also thought to promote mindful eating, potentially leading to better digestion, increased nutrient absorption, and a greater sense of satisfaction from meals.

Why chew food more thoroughly?
* Improved Digestion:Chewing breaks down food into smaller particles, making it easier for digestive enzymes to work. This can prevent indigestion, bloating, and other digestive discomforts.
* Increased Nutrient Absorption:When food is properly chewed, the body can more efficiently extract nutrients, leading to better overall health.
* Mindful Eating:Focusing on chewing each bite encourages slower eating, which can help with portion control and reduce the risk of overeating.
* Reduced Digestive Strain:By pre-digesting food in the mouth, the stomach and intestines have less work to do, potentially leading to better gut health
