One of the most dangerous things about hypertension -- or high blood pressure (HBP) -- is that you may not know you have it!
Blood pressure is influenced by five factors:
💓Cardiovascular output
💓Vascular resistance in the periphery
💓Circulating blood volume
💓Blood viscosity
💓Elasticity of vessel walls
Blood pressure rises as cardiac output, peripheral vascular resistance, blood volume, viscosity, and vessel wall rigidity rise, and falls as these decrease.
Cardiac output (L/min) is the volume of blood flow from the heart through the ventricles. Any factor that reduces cardiac output, whether by lowering heart rate, stroke volume, or both, reduces arterial pressure and blood flow, for instance if your potassium ion levels are too high/low, or if your body is too acid.
💧💖Blood viscosity is a measure of blood thickness (it should be approximately five times that of water). The presence of plasma proteins and elements in the blood influences your blood's thickness or resistance to flow. Blood viscosity has a significant impact on blood pressure and flow. Consider the flow differences between water and honey. The more viscous honey would exhibit greater flow resistance than the less viscous water. 🍯🐝The same holds true for blood.
The best way to know if your blood pressure is high is through regular check-ups. Our trained health practitioners can test your blood pressure, along with your overall health and establish the causes for your
severe headaches, nosebleeds, fatigue or confusion, vision problems, chest pain or difficulty breathing - all of which are indications of possible HBP. Make an appointment with pH4Life consultant today - it could save your life!
