Introducing... Dr Ruth-Anne Graham! She's already been part of the scene given Taryn's absence on a course, but we thought it time to introduce our wonderful locum doctor. A Grahamstown local, Ruth-Anne attended DSG before graduating from Stellnbosch with her medical degree _cum laude_. She holds current Paediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, has recently written her Diploma in Child Health exams, and has completed a course in point of care ultrasound. She's going to be around a bit more as we get busier, but if you have a health need this week, she's available to see you, as is Dr Ben.

It was our honour to open 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎𝟎𝟎 for 7y old Singa - and to help him with some stitches. We are grateful for the consent to use his pic so we could celebrate this milestone here. We are grateful to everyone who has entrusted us with their care!

Home visits and Hospital at Home are cornerstones of our practice. After all, quality care is pretty useless if it's not accessible. This week we retired the genuine WWII British military doctor's case in order to preserve it. The case belonged to practice manager Margaret's grandfather and it has been a privilege to use it. While we won't have the beautiful "talking point" with us, our ethos of providing accessible quality care remains unchanged.

Taryn will be away for the next two weeks attending a course, as part of our commitment to continual learning. In medicine, as in many professions, if you stop learning, you start forgetting—we’re dedicated to staying up to date.

We haven’t yet managed to put our professional Core Values up on the wall, but we believe it’s more important to live them out every day.

Having just celebrated Easter, with its focus on resurrection, it seems an appropriate time to resurrect our social media presence!
We are so grateful for the over 3000 people who have trusted us with their medical needs, but staying in touch as unobtrusively as possible is a challenge.
