South Coast Dental Ceramics was established in the early 1980s by Ed Cummings in Southbroom. The laboratory was moved to Beaver Creek farm in Port Edward where it was situated until 2011. Mike Ioppo joined Ed in 1989 as a crown and bridge technician, and after working for Ed for a good few years,became a partner in the business. Mike aquired Ed's share in 2012 and moved the laboratory to its present location at Mattison Square. South Coast Dental Ceramics has an excellent reputation for high quality of work in all spheres of Dental Technology, with CAD CAM milling and Implantology a particular area of expertise. The laboratory has a staff complement of 7 and services Dentists as far as Umtata, Kokstad south of us and Umhlanga on the north coast. Quality and Service are the main philosophies in the laboratory which have led to our excellent name in the industry. We charge specifically according to medical aid rates and do direct medical aid claims.
