As the Campus Health Service we endorse the mission statement and core values of the Nelson Mandela University and endeavor to provide the following services:

Comprehensive primary health care
HIV/AIDS counselling, testing and management
Counselling services
Health promotion & education
COVID Vaccination/COVID Testing

WHO WILL RENDER THIS SERVICE

Registered nurses
Registered counsellors
Sessional medical doctor (for students only)

WHO MAY USE THE SERVICE

All students with proof of registration at NMU
All official visitors to NMU

BOOKING PROCEDURE

Phone the clinic on the day you would like an appointment from 07:30 onwards. FREE SERVICES

Family planning
Treatment for sexually transmitted diseases
Monitoring of TB patients
Meal supplements
Counselling services
HIV/AIDS services - Free, Confidential HIV counselling &
testing (HCT)
- Maintenance programme, whereby
all students who are HIV POSITIVE
will have:
* monthly health screenings
* immune boosters & flu vaccines
* agressive treatment/referral of all
minor ailments
* TB prevention programme
* preparation for & dispensing of
Anti-retroviral treatment (ART)
* diagnosis & treatment of
opportunistic infections
* medical doctor's appointment as
needed
* ongoing care & support in the
form of counselling as & when
needed as well as on campus
support groups for staff
& students

Dear Students

Please be informed that all Campus Clinics will be closed from 01 October till 03 October 2024 due to our 'First things First' HIV Campaign across all three Summerstrand Campuses. In the event of a Medical Emergency on Campus please inform your House Com or Residence Manager to contact the Ambulance Emergency Services.

Alternatively, inform Protection Services to contact the Ambulance.
