MEET THE PHARMACIST: Franco Ge**er (Klinicare Mill Park)

A proud child of the '80s, Franco began his educational journey at Lorraine Primary School before matriculating from Newton Technical High School. He went on to earn his Pharmacy degree at UPE.

Franco is known for his compassionate nature and infectious smile, qualities that have made him a beloved member of the Klinicare family since 2001.

Outside of his professional life, Franco is a dedicated family man—happily married with two teenage sons. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, playing golf, and, as he jokingly puts it, “doing what his wife tells him to do.”

Franco's Health Tip:
Watch your diet over the Festive Season. Combining fats with carbs can affect blood sugar levels and lead to excess calorie consumption, which may negate some benefits of healthy fats. Opt for balanced meals that include a combination of healthy fats, complex carbs, and lean proteins to support overall health and energy balance.

• Processing customer purchases or account payments at the point of sale.
• Communicating and upselling products at the point of sale.
• Taking telephonic orders from customers.
• Welcome patients at the Clinic and assist with the flow of patients.
• Daily cashing up and balancing of till.
• Provide professional customer service by assist and advise customers in the shop on their purchases, including upselling and cross selling, e.g., stock on promotion, script saver products, suggest vitamins and tissues to customers with colds and flu, airtime, etc.

We have great news! Sr Hannie Williams has opened her practice, KliniNurse Diabetic Care, at the KliniDoc Newton Park Medical Centre.

She is a well-known diabetes nurse educator (DNE) who specializes in diabetes management and education.

Her focus is on patients with diabetes, especially the newly diagnosed. She educates them and their loved ones about the disease, and help them develop personalized treatment plans. She may also train family members and caretakers on how to care for patients who can't manage their diabetes themselves.

She is a wealth of information!

In keeping with World Diabetes Week, Gareth Burley from Kingfisher FM will interview Sr Hannie Williams tomorrow morning at 07:40 about her new practice, the Diabetic Care services she'll be offering and the FREE Diabetes Screening she will be providing (together with SERVIER) at Walmer Park Shopping Centre during the 13th and 14th of November.
